I've been finding it hard to go 1 week or even a whole month without touching myself and sometimes I find it hard to sleep at night because certain thoughts pop up. I dont see how anyone can go 90 days or hell become a monk. Yeah, nice advice "stop looking for someone and they'll come along". Does that mean I have to suppress these thoughts and not be interested in the opposite sex? Every year and every day is the exact same thing over and over and over and over again? Fucking Groundhog Day exactly. Gee, how about something random, serendipitous happen already instead of the same lifestyle over and over and over again. I'd hate to have to come back to this post in 2 years from now. I wonder what 2025 will be like? Oh boy can I hardly wait. I've been doing some awareness lately when I look at a female. I dont just look at the body but the entire person, and try not to get the lust in my head. Sure, im attracted (sexually) too but I think that's gotta be normal right? As long as lust isn't involved

I think that's a very, very good start and that you are well on your way to fixing your frustrations. I believe that when you can be attracted to someone in a simple, non-sexual way it helps us to view them in a more healthy way, and also helps us to use our emotional energy in a more healthy way. Being over sexual in the way we are attracted to others creates emotional stress, in my opinion, and of course when you are constantly emotional stress you're eventually going to burn out and be frustrated.

If it's an addiction then it would probably be good to wean away from it. I watched porn as a young teen, and being able to get away from it was super freeing. And again, getting rid of things that use up a lot of emotional energy (whether it be porn or anything else) will help you feel better about yourself and life in general. That's what I believe, at least

Maybe so, but I think it's like any other addiction. It's would make you very frustrated and restless at first, during the withdrawal phase. But then once the withdrawals are over, you will be free from it
