How long did it take to find the right person or for that person to find you?

I have yet to find my the right person for me. Who knows it might be later this year…I don’t know.

In the alternate universe where we didn't get blocked by external factors (or in case she comes back) 8 years. Wished for her when I was 18, in hindsight I sensed her back then and she sensed me but had no clue who I was. Turns out we were 5 years apart so it wasn't possible before we met. I met her as soon as she was ready. Had I met her right away when I was 18 she'd have been 13 and I wouldn't even have considered her for obvious reasons.

I have had several long term relationships which were successful for a period of time, but all of which ultimately failed. I finally found Miss Helen when I was 65 years old. We are now married and very happy together!

It's challenging to find the person who "matches" you completely. All the movies and stories we hear tend to set up unrealistic expectations in our minds and hearts of what that looks like. Just trust your gut feeling about a person and you'll find a "close match" from among what's available by you. Trying to do this with an app is ridiculous because "gut feeling" doesn't translate properly through the screens/apps.

I was 61 when I finally met the right guy for me. He was 4 years younger than myself which is nothing really.
He was a total surprise! 🎁
They say they just when you aren't interested in a relationship anymore - that's when you find true. 💕

@mizzartfreak89 many women in my lifetime I've thought were decent possibly compatible women - too often they often seemed to then show true colours, like maybe bad manners, or they had differing interests versus 1 or 2 like minded interests the other 80 odd percent totally alien to me, so I for one am so picky lol 😆 so you could say, I've only ever come close lol pun

It took me 26 years of age. With lots of trust break, betrayal, getting used, getting manipulated and finally losing all hopes and confidence. But when I was at the last edge of losing everything all my chance then finally I got one. The perfect match for my imperfections.

Then for keeping him I had to fight the whole world but he is worthy of all that. So I'm doing it.
