My boyfriend takes a long time to text me back and we are in a long distance relationship. What to do?

So my boyfriend and I are in a long distance relationship. We are couple of states apart right now. I told him that I hate it when he takes a long time to respond to my texts. When I say long I mean hours. I'm usually not like this, but I feel like all we have right now is our phones since we are in a long distance relationship. I told him that if he gets busy that all he has to do is let me know that he's busy and that he'll text me later. I understand being busy since I am a college student taking 17 hours. However, I do make time to text him in between breaks and I let him know when I'm busy. But he keeps on doing it over and over again. We've fought about this at least 10 times. It's the only thing we really fight about. I love him a lot and leaving him is not an option. But I don't know what else to do

It looks like you are worried that he would have enough time to cheat. Take the pressure off and stop the arguments about texting. Every time I gave up the I want to manage your every free minute stuff my boyfriend would relax a lot and actually talk to me more. You need to text once about the time you would be free and say something else nice. Let him reply before texting again. Guys hate text bombs. They won't reply if you send too many in a day.

I understand your dilemma. .. I have the same issue. I live in the US and my boyfriend lives 29hours away in Canada... as much as I hate to admit it, based off personal experience, you can't really do anything about it. He obviously cares if he is trying to make a long distance relationship work so just try to relax and cherish those moments when you can talk.

Thanks for the advice! You're right! I just talked to him. Texting is the only thing we fight about so we talked and decided not to make it an issue. As long as we call twice a day and Skype on weekends. This distance us frustrating but worth it

He isn't into replying to texts right away...some guys are like that. You can't change him nor should you, so you either accept him for it or you dump him for it.

I don't see any other choices, to be honest.

God forbid he isn't hanging on your every word and at your beck & call! You poor thing, you deserve a man who will respond when and exactly how you want it!

Coming out of fantasy land - if he did that, if he was super available man who was totally predictable you would be bored with him and not posting questions on the internet trying to figure him out. ;-)
