The equality you're talking about wasn't always self-explanatory. And in certain cultures and societies it still isn't. eg islamic countries And sometimes people are being all about equality in theory and not so in everyday life. eg. many employers won't hire a woman, because she might get pregnant and take a leave
I think there's a huge double standard here. "Masculine" women are accepted by divert much easier than "feminine" men. Obviously it's understandable because what woman wants to be with a guy that dresses like a fruit and wears perfume? I would never have a problem if a girl works on cars or shoots guns.

I'm not disagreeing men, and women can virtually do anything each other can do. But that doesn't mean each gender can do everything as well as each other.
There are reasons why male, and female sports are separate (just one example).

Of course, there are 'gaps' between men and women. But that doesn't mean that we can enforce others to 'fit into' any specific range. we don't have any right to say "Boys should never put on make-up" or "Girls cannot be soldiers"

Though in all seriousness, your interest in the hard sciences and astronomy makes the air force a better choice, My dad worked with satellites and missiles,
The air force has jurisdiction over anything involved space, hell my dad saw the shuttle land at one of the only other places its landed than cape canveral, they are both air force bases in the middle of the desert.

Its true men and women can do each others roles, but they will receive criticism, laughter and mockery, such as the house husband.
