Today me and my girlfriend got into a little dispute about me getting a job and I'm really trying but she doesn't understand how hard it is because everything has been handed to her. The job she has was given to her by her mom and the last job before that I had to go out and get for her. I asked her to come over today and she came over with one of her friends. She was acting really weird because every time I said something she looked over at her friend. She didn't come up to me to hug me and kiss me or nothing like she normally does. Then she had the nerve to ask me what did I want her to come over for. I told her that I just wanted to hang out with her. And she said "well I'm here what do you want." It was as if she was ashamed of me or something or she thought I wanted to start something. I didn't get it but it was very embarrassing. Can someone explain this to me

Im not sure what you mean by trophy boyfriend? I thought when you treat someone like a trophy, you show them off to everyone...just like having em around cause of how proud you are of them.

It doesn't seem like she's very proud of you. Though I get it that its hard to find a job right now, its probably not a source of pride that her boyfriend doesn't have a job... That she's working, no matter who got her the job...shes earning money...wanting you to be able to do the same for yourself isn't that unreasonable..is it?

Anyway, if I were you, Id focus more on doing what I need to do to take care of myself, if she's not understanding that things are tough right now, then she's not a great match for you... Its better to be with someone who will be encouraging and supportive than someone who will kick you when you're down.

She's getting flack from her friends when she talks about you. You are right, she does feel a bit embarrassed that you don't have a job and she wants you to feel that way so it will somehow "ignite" some drive in you to get one.

I know it's hard but you know how I got all of my jobs? Through friends, family and even showing up to one store 3 days a week for a month before they interviewed me.

Am I calling you lazy or a loser? No I'm not at all but it's going to take some hard work and aggression to get a job and if you show her you are really trying by talking about it. She will feel proud of you for the effort.

If you are really digging deep for jobs, talk to her about it and let her know. It'll reassure her you aren't sitting around.

Your relationship is on life support bro. When she kept looking at her friend that means she was talking sh*t about you to him/her earlier and every time you said something that she complained to her friend about earlier that's when she looked over at her.

She sounds like one of those girls that will only be in a relationship with someone that can spoil her, and when she doesn't get her way she takes it out on you. You sure you are the HNIC? It sounds like she is the boss of the relationship. If I were you I wouldn't put up with my girlfriend embarrassing me like that...and if she was that spoiled like she sounds then I wouldn't have even been involved with her this long.
