Some of us (I'm not) are in a movement to preserve Irish Gaelic both here and in Ireland. Ditto the Cherokee language, "Tsalagi Gawonihisdi" (I have a few drops of their blood) that was put to paper by Sequoyah. I go to Powwows occasionally and have not heard it.
I meet plenty of irish and most only know a phrase or two. But a few of the older ones point out it's becoming fashionable among the younger generation which inspired this question
But then the culture that accompanies it goes extinct as well. That's why our "civilized tribes", Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Creek and Seminole work to preserve our languages and cultures.
