For men, I think it is especially true.

You’ll notice that men’s behavior changes rather drastically when in the company of a beautiful woman, especially one where they are actually/intimately involved with.

Lots of half-truths and full blown lies are told to these women. I’ve noticed it in myself and other men.

It makes total sense though, from nearly all perspectives (biological, societal, emotional, etc).

Men will tolerate A LOT for a woman they fancy very much.

I’m not sure how true it is. I think if women hear the same load of BS from a guy who is 6’ 3”, muscular and driving a Porsche, it will be far more believable than it would have been from a man who is 5’ 6”, chubby and driving a Chevy Spark. She is acting on visuals.

I also wonder if men lie to women as much as they lie to themselves. They want to believe the silly little myth that women are sweet, innocent little angels seduced and corrupted by men.

If she is a college senior having a drunken one night stand, she will say “He got me drunk” and “He took advantage of me” as if it was a naive mistake, even though it is the 137th time the same thing is happened.

And, when a man she has been dating for years promises to “forsake all others” at the altar of a church, there is only a 30% to 50% chance he’ll keep that promise. So when a man says “this time is different” piss drunk at 2:00 AM, after meeting a woman at midnight, why in the hell would she have any serious expectation that he is telling the truth?

This is why many men notice a spike in their attention from women if they got an attractive girl, if they wear a wedding ring or even using an escort and carrying her to a social event. Women by in large a re more hive mind than men and tend to go after a small group of men. These men often have a wide range to pick from and therefore will only commit to the best girl and thus we get the narrative of women always saying that men only want sex or men don't want to commit.

I'd say courtship in general, people are deceiving at first, as a way to get their foot in the door. Otherwise women without make up don't get asked out and men lie to get their attention, both hoping to make a good impression and thus moving beyond all that.
