Why, seriously why do people that hate Trump HATE him?

We only get the same old stupid answers like how he told a guy that you can get any woman you want when you are rich.
He had orange hair.
He's fat.
He's a liar but I'm not sure what he has lied about. Now, if you want to give the trophy 🏆 to the biggest liar in the Nation, the trophy goes to Biden - hands down!
Strange how so many started hating him all at the same time, just like a cult does.

Several factors are at play.

Part of it is simply disagreement on policy issues. Though that is perhaps the least important factor. Particularly when, in actual practice, the difference between Mr. Trump and his political opponents on policy issues is not that wide.

See also Mr. Trump's supporters beating up on Governor DeSantis for his vote to reduce Social Security benefits back when the latter was a Member of Congress. Suffice to say, Mr. Trump is hardly taking a controversial stand.

The other factor is the impact of media. The media back in the day - movies, radio, television - intensified the scrutiny of a candidate, to be sure. However, it is nothing like the impact of today's social media. This tends to focus the individual on the things that they like or least like about a candidate and intensify that image with almost laser-like intensity. Thus, emotional reactions are now even more intense than they were a mere 20 years ago.

However, these factors - and there are others - pale in comparison to the main reason. Mr. Trump wants that intensity and hatred. He is a populist and that hatred directed towards himself is interpreted by his supporters as the opposition's loathing of the man they support.

A man who expresses himself in highly vitriolic terms toward those he opposes because it echoes the populist belief that the elites loathe the common man. The common man, for his part, wants to support an individual who will reciprocate with equal intensity the common man's loathing of the elites.

The result is a vitriolic spiral. On the one hand, Mr. Trump so antagonizes his opponents that they fire at him a loathing that Mr. Trump then points to as evidence of the elite's disdain for the common man. On the other hand, by antagonizing his opponents in such an open and vitriolic way, Mr. Trump satisfies, among his own supporters, their desire to "tell the man off," so to speak.

Ironically, it is why Mr. Trump, notwithstanding having a reasonably good - though not as brilliant as his supporters claim - track record in office, could not be re-elected. Mr. Trump's style precluded, in effect, the chance that a consensus could be built around him and his policies.

The striking contrast is with the late former President Reagan. For his time, Reagan's views were fairly controversial. Yet Reagan's style was agreeable and friendly. This being caught by a cartoon published during his tenure:

First panel: A pollster asks a voter what he thinks of Reagan's policies - #@*!! is the response. Next panel the pollster asks the same voter what he thinks of Reagan personally. The reply: "Oh nice guy, friendly, jovial'"

To be sure, Reagan's policies were successful - even more then Trump's. (Reagan's best economic growth rate - an eye watering 7.4%. Trump's: 3.1%. Reagan's best inflation rate: 1.1%. Trump's: 2.1%... and so on.)

Yet because Reagan's style was so affable and generous, a general consensus formed around his policy agenda that remained dominant in the country until, ironically, the Trump years. In effect, Reagan calmed and soothed the nation as well as making it prosperous.

By contrast, although the objective conditions in the country under Mr. Trump were reasonably good, he nurtured the populist anger that is now so much a part of the tone of the culture. In effect, in order to satiate the populist anger of his supporters, Mr. Trump antagonized the larger society.

The net result is that is that Mr. Trump has come - even though, again, reasonably successful as measured in policy terms - to be cordially loathed by a large segment of the population. The irony being that, in many ways, that loathing has served Mr. Trump well.

Mainly because he beat Hillary Clinton in 2016, His mouth get him into trouble with independents, the grab her by the pussy joke is one example. The legacy media also tried painting trump in a bad light, like when they said he subjected injecting bleach to cure Covid which he never said.

my beef with Trump right now is the fact that he lost in 2018 and 2020 and the candidates he picked for 2022 mid terms all lost. Trump is hilarious there is not a more entertaining human on earth than trump. But I want to win in 2024 if it comes to the general and trump is the nominee I will vote for trump a 3rd time but in the primaries I’m voting for Ron DeSantis.

Ron DeSantis bucked the conventional wisdom on COVID-19 opened up his state and the state of Florida has thrived he turned a purple state to a deep red state he’s not letting Disney get away with promoting homosexuality and transgenderism in schools he’s passed a 6 week abortion ban and he gave parents the right to control what there kids are being taught in the call room with the parental protection in education at (what the left termed as the don’t say gay bill) and he doesn’t piss off independents so against joe Biden DeSantis is likely to win, trump vs Biden I’m not sure if trump can win.

I don’t hate trump but I don’t think he’s the right choice for 2024

I once was against trump as I listened to mainstream media that repeated the same thing and tell you what trump said instead of listening to what he actually said and why he wants to do certain things, I would let the news dictate what supposedly trump meant. OMG he's so racist he said "HOMBRES" 😱!! I remember this part being repeated on Spanish news so much and people like OMG he's so racist he said "HOMBRES" .. and now I think back on it like WTF? how is that racist.. Fucking ridiculous. Most of what he says is true but people want to feel offended for everything and I'm not even republican or democrat but I see democrats use propaganda a LOT to skew people's thinking and it's powerful it really works. Because the left-wing media tells them to. The democrat party has successfully taken over most of the media in the USA. MSNBC is the worst, followed by CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, virtually EVERY major newspaper in the nation. The also control most social media. Yeah, they recently lost full control of Twitter, but they are still allowed an equal voice on there. The democrats are still having a meltdown over Elon Musk allowing free speech. Democrats want to label any speech that is not approved by the party as "hate speech". In some of the deep blue states, they are passing laws to this effect.

Why are the democrats doing this? They are literally copying the work done by Nazi Propaganda Minister, Joseph Goebbels. He was able to pacify an entire nation of Germans and control their thoughts and opinions by controlling all media. This is the goal of the democrat party. Goebbels also took control of the schools and replaced the teachers with loyal Nazis so they could indoctrinate the kids with Nazi ideology. The democrats have done the exact same thing. Do you think it is coincidence that nearly every teacher in the USA is "woke" and is pushing all of this gay and trans stuff on kids starting in kindergarten and elementary schools? Teaching reading, math, English, science, history, is not even on these teacher's agenda. They are hyper-focused on teaching woke ideology. I can’t speak for the Anti-Trumpers.. But my measly retirement fund was doing just fine. I just hated being able to fill up my gas tank with taking out a mortgage. NOT!!! So nice not to hear that businesses have staffing shortages and that you would need to wait for service. No shortage of food on store shelves.
And it also seemed that at least one half of the citizens of the United States walked around having a smile on their face. Not like now. When no one is happy!

I feel like he degraded the office of the president. Other people may have thought the things he said, but saying them openly helped weaken the public's faith in the office. He also make a lot of divisive statements that increased the liberal / conservative tension in the us.

It looked to me like he not only openly questioned the results of the election but tried to take that questioning beyond the US legal processes. This country only works if people believe it works. Once we start questioning elections we are on a path to civil war. Legal challenges are one thing, but inciting a mob is entirely different.

I can tell you why I dislike him. His assault on my business partner. His bodyguards hemmed up my good friend and business partner for no reason. His words to him "nobody cares what the poor think." The fact that he used public funds. My money, to pay off his own debt.
