Happy Thanksgiving first of all

I went to the store to grab the last few things (an extra soda pop and random stuff) and I got like 20 items tops, yet it was $127

I swung by to fill up my truck: $112

My family will get a little Thanksgiving dinner, but for the first time ever we won't have an actual turkey since they're almost $100

Wars are breaking out all across the world and the US is jumping into most of them and paying billions

Illegal immigrants are streaming across the border by the millions and this is also costing billions

Meanwhile we have budget cuts on cops and schools and elderly people

How much more bidenomics / Biden administration can the US and the world take before we literally cannot survive anymore?

What happens if Biden somehow manages to "win" again? I'm not even kidding when I say I'm seriously scared. Now thankfully it looks like Trump is going to win as he's leading by a million miles, but we remember last time...

I read somewhere how democrats figured out a clever way to manipulate the cost of gas so people will think that Biden is actually trying to do something that will actually help Americans. No country wants to use commodity backed currencies because they both limit what the government can and can't do with them which makes them less able to react to changes in the economy and also it makes the currency vulnerable to things happening to whatever it is tied to.

Like for example, if you back your currency to gold then if something happens with the mining or demand of gold, perhaps a major mine collapses or a new technology makes it easier to mine gold, then it would impact your currency beyond the control of the government.

The reason commodity backed currencies were popular back in history is because governments were weaker and trust in the institutions were lower. It was easier to trust in the material the currency was made out of or the promise to exchange it for the material than it was to trust in the guarantees of the government. This is no longer the case, its the opposite today.

Any country which actually backed their currency with a commodity, such as gold, would just fall behind the economic developments around the world and have their national economy struggle to catch up with everyone else who can more easily adapt to the daily changes.

In fact, just for fun lets make a quick calculation. 150 oz of gold currently cost 274,183 dollars. The average house price in USA is 430,300 dollars.

And again, inflation has provable and documented stimulating effects on inflation. More specifically, it drives people to spend their money so that they do not lose its value from when they were paid. More consumer spending means a stronger economy. Pretty simple stuff.
