Why are people so emboldened now to talk openly about their racist, xenophobic, Islamophobic and/or anti-sematic views?

I find it to be quite the opposite, of anything people feel perfectly emboldened to attack Christians and Christianity.

Which really just means that I’m talking with a person who isn’t really concerned about any of the phobias or -isms they listed, but really just don’t like Trump.

If you think Islamophobia is bad under Trump I guess you don’t remember 9/11 when Arabs and Sikhs were getting harassed and assaulted. 🙄

Because Trump, or rather, Trump's political success, exposed the open contempt people have for one another. No one took him seriously- I certainly didn't- and so the mockery and derision, for both him and his supporters, flowed freely.

Then he won.

After that, well, you don't forget someone who turns on you the way the media and society did on people who voted for Trump; we've seen what happens when you ignore that. We've seen it in Sudan, in Yemen, in Rwanda and all over the former Yugoslavia, and that's just in MY lifetime.

Umm not it's been going the opposite way through all of society it's only getting less openly talked about. Otherwise you would have people on the street still saying N word everytime they see someone's who black.
So dunno where your getting this from tbh.

The only thing that has been growing is yes opposition to religion. Though depending on who you ask that's religious discrimination or just common sense.

Talking about a group of people as a whole is. Criticizing individuals for their actions or words is fine, but not because of their race, religion, or origin.
