I like to think I’m a fairly effective and productive person, but i only make my bed when i wash my sheets and blankets. I do luv the smell and feel of freshly laundered bed clothes though! How about you?

Its an absolutely vital part of procedure of the day , and the essence of being productive , plus it works in accordance with Feng Sui which does change you life , if you have " clutter and mess " and no synergies it will flow over into productivity and relationships , making the bed and opening the curtains should be amongst your first actions of the day , and the bed should be made with balance and colour in mind.
Vitally important action , and the flow on positives are immense , its certainly not a case of " I dont believe " , its an attitude and a balance , and that goes for the rest of where you live , messy and you will have a messy life , singular , you have no room for another , really important action every day.
No. But the idea behind it was to help people build a routine and good habits.
Today though, we know filthy bed sheets are still filthy bed sheets and it's actually worse for your health to make your bed every day as you're breathing all that crap in.
Better to let the bed air out, if you're not changing the sheets every day.
No. If I do make it, it will not be all the way. I like my sheets untucked so I can just slide right into bed. Plus, I've had a very bad encounter with bed bugs & dustmites in my bed, so I will never EVER make it all nice and neat after that. If you don't know, making your bed will make it easier for bed bugs to jump right back in the bedding & sheets.
I do. I just like for my house to be neat throughout. I also find it more relaxing at the end of the day to step into an orderly bedroom. I can't relax in chaos.

When I was a teen I wound up in a program for youth requiring intensive psychiatric care. We were required to make our beds every morning. The first thing I would do after retiring each night would be to go to my bed and un-make it. It was ridiculous. We had to tuck in our sheets and stuff to make it look pretty and everything. I swore I'd never make my bed again, and I've been much happier since then, but, of course, correlation does not imply causation. (I still ideate self-destruction, but that's always.)
Admiral William H. McRaven is one of the "make your bed every morning!" kind of guys:

Making a bed would be an interesting exercise; creating that in which you sleep each night. But that's not what people mean.
"Making" a bed is rendering what's supposed to be a supportive, welcoming place cold, sterile, and useless, since it's inaccessible.
A made bed is something that's supposed to make you have better self-worth because you did something, and a made bed is a nice bit of décor. But practically, it's a pain in the neck, makes the act of lying in bed less pleasant until it can be thoroughly un-made, and the time that it takes someone like me who struggles with manual tasks would be better utilized toward something that had a practical gain.
I think a logical and practical man would choose bedding that does not require making. A doona and bottom fitted sheet needs nothing for a week.
I don't have a choice, the bed covering falls off every day so I have to make my bed every day.
Yes. Keeps the pet hair out. The one place they aren't allowed.
No, i don't want to breed all sorts of nasty stuff in my bed
Most days yes. Sometimes no because the lack of time in the mornings.
either I do it or my wife does, It depends on who gets up last.
I do. I have to. It's not orderly until it's made. I can't believe that I'm one of the bed makers given my teens
@DrPepper12 What about it makes it hard to believe?
I sleep on a Cindy Crawford La-Z-Boy recliner chair no need to make it nothing to make leather all around
Cindy Crawford is designing recliners now? Like, supermodel Cindy Crawford? Weird. But good for her, I guess.
@NamerOfStars yes She’s with room to go
I throw it back together, but I don't lose sleep over it, or under it.
No. My cat Allister is often asleep on part of the bed and I don't dare disturb him.
aw, kitty. 🐱
i sure do! i cannot stand a messy bed. it makes me feel gross. so as soon as i wake up in the morning, i make my best. it's the first thing i do.
my friend once told me she's "too busy to make her bed in the morning and having to do adult things instead" so she just doesn't... how are you too busy and an too adult to not make your own bed?
I get up before my wife so she makes the bed after she gets up.
No I’m not gunna make something I’m just going to mess up again. The only official time i make ny bed up nice is when I was my sheets.
*my bed up nice is when I wash
Me too lazy… I do like when I get home and the bed is so nice and neat after then cleaning ladies made it. 😊
It's a pointless exercise just like ironing clothes.
I can't say every day but most of the time
Absolutely not.
Under threat of execution should I fail to...
