It hurts in the beginning, but then you slowly start to realize she was not the one for you, but instead revealed some things about yourself. You should just be thankful for that. Some people go through life and never have people who are honest with them or say things to their face. So, she did you a favor and helped you grow.
Now, the fact that you loved her, you love that she showed you something, but she wasn't the one. You guys weren't meant to be together, because then you would have been together. Trust the process. Life is meant to be explored, not just stopped when one person or the other think it is more convenient for them. I hope this made some sense to you :) Good luck

How do you get over being insecure for getting dumped?
Learn from your mistakes. Learn that you'll never know in 2 weeks or 2 months if "she's the one". Learn there is no "one". Learn how to recognise the signs in yourself, when you're feeling clingy and insecure. Learn you don't have to act on those feelings, or verbalise them. Then find a new girl to practice on.
don't worry, your on the right path. It might just take a little longer but at least your laughing and having good times without her. And you realize that she is not right for you so at least you are not living in false hope. Just keep doing what your doing and eventually you will stop missing her.
