Get out of the hotel. Every time you get sent on a trip, become a tourist in the place you're going. Learn about the city, see the sights, get out and do things. The hotel is just a place to lay your head and get yourself ready to work. If you end up in one spot for many weeks, treat it like you've moved there. Heck, you might get sent back. Make friends, find a church, do some things as if it were your home. Spend as little time in the hotel as you can.
you could do what the others have suggested or you can have something that just makes it feel like home with me it has always been candles, fire places, and Christmas trees they just give me a home sweet home feeling so you should find something that makes you feel at home and take it with you.
My aunt works for this major aerospace company and she travels A LOT! Nothing wrong with traveling but I feel bad for her because it sounds extremely tiring having to travel back and forth like that. What she does sometimes is venture outside of her hotel to check out some scenery. You could try that if you're up for it.
Bring pictures with you and one of your own blankets, if you have a little kitchenette (which I hope I get because my job needs me to travel too) cook a meal that reminds you of home. Is it possible for anyone to go visit you? Like a girl lol

I have no clue cause I dream of a job like that. I want to fulfill investigations and contracts on my part. Work at my own pace, shove hours of overtime, and get the job done.
