Or if you don't like this specific term of endearment, just use a different one
Or you can just be honest with him and tell him that you love it when he does it, but you feel weird using it because you're new to this. The fact that you don't call him 'baby' would be a stupid reason to get upset at :)
I guess the more you say it the more you'll feel more comfortable with it. Just give yourself some time, this is still all new to you.

Assuming that's the case, you've just gotta go for it. I, too, was kinda emotionally stunted around your age, and I had to teach myself how to be comfortable with intimacy.
To be honest I doubt he really cares if you don't call him baby. I wouldn't - I don't expect a girlfriend to use the same pet names I do. It's not like "I love you".
Find your own thing to call him.

Just continue using it even though it feels a little weird that feeling of it being weird will pass once you're used to it. I'm sure he likes it too otherwise he'd probably say something.
Because it's something in the meaning of the word I guess. Like something your dad may say to you? Or you don't like saying the cute names like that.

I have the same problem so I call my girlfriend sweetie or angel
Baby may be a little awkward. What if you called him daddy. That to me is weird. Just a little humor
