Am I wrong for not wanting to talk to this girl after she said she just wants to be close friends?

When we met she was very affectionate and touchy towards me. She would hold my hand, lean on my shoulder, and just was touchy and sweet and I liked it. She also kissed me the first time we hung out and would check in on me and things like that. We were pretty much the same person down to our interests and hobbies & we both thought we were a good match with a great connection.

Yesterday after we had been talking all day she hit me with the “I’m not ready for a relationship”, but she said she still wants me in her life as a close friend and kept apologizing and repeating the former. Naturally, I don't want to talk to her right now even though she's being very sweet and said “I’m not saying a relationship won’t happen” but this isn’t my first go-around and I’ve heard that line before. I feel like I was lead on.

I'm not sure a friendship is possible right now.

TLDR: Is it wrong if I don't want to talk to her right now because my feelings are hurt? Or should I give the friendship a try?

F. because reality is, she is not finding you physically attractive, where she is willing to spread her butt chicks for you, it is that plane and simple. Now, what she be doing from this point on, is keep you on her hopioid leash, meaning she will continue talking to you and giving you hope that one day (that will never come) you might, Might become her potential B. F (which is a lie and she already knows it). When most (Most, not all) girls find guys physically attractive, they are getting bedded in less than a week. Your priority is to find a full time G. F. so you can be not just a good friend, but also a daily sexual partner. Your friend has other priorities, even though I can bet you $1,000 she is also looking for a B. F, but with you, she pretends that she is not looking for B. F., because she is getting something out of you, financial help whenever she needs or emotional support when she needs someone to talk to. Guys cannot be just friends with girls, UNLESS guys are either gay or they already have a G. F. or wife that they are having sex with.

Don't make a hasty decision when you're feelings hurt, because you'll end up regretting it.

Instead take some time to reflect on things. Before making a decision, wait until you're in a better frame of mind. Never make decisions based on how you feel in any given moment, because you'd be making a decision based on an emotional reaction you the situation.

I was once in a similar situation. He said he wasn't ready for a relationship, but treated me more than just a friend. I stayed friends with him, and eventually he got into a relationship with someone else. That was very painful for me because I felt like he kept stringing me along and played me. We don't speak anymore.

The right person for you will take risks to be with you. Don't hold onto someone who's indecisive about being with you. It leads to heartache. If someone is saying someday , maybe or one day, they aren't worth investing in.

Whether you should remain friends or not... ask yourself which is more painful -cutting contact with her and not having her in your life. Or remaining friends, knowing that's all you'll probably ever be to her.

Nope , those are your boundaries. You are communicating to her because you want a relationship, she isn’t willing to give you that right now and you have the right to handle that information the way you want because after all the only reason why you both started talking is for a relationship. You don’t owe her anything. You don’t want to hang around her while you have feelings and she is playing it off like you don’t.

No, I think its fine you don't want to talk to her. I hate people who act and do that stuff. I would ditch her personally, unless you really want to keep her as a friend. Don't get attached and don't waste your time, people like that never actually like you or they would scoop you up right away.

A week and a half is not enough time to determine if you want to be in a relationship, so give it time... being friends first makes the relationship much better

There really isn't a specific "right or wrong" , here.
There are plenty of times I don't really want to talk with my wife. Two days ago, we went to buy paint. She picked the colors she thought she wanted. I checked with her several times - yes, yup, uh-huh, righto- THIS was THE paint. Today I had to get two gallons in a different color since she finally came around to her senses. I wasn't really very happy about this at all, especially since my Bachelor degree in college WAS in Visual Design- which, of course- included working with colors, their effects, which go with which, effects of north/east/south or west exposure on perceived color, etc., and I had already run several laps with her on the topic. But, should I shoot nearly 50 years of marriage in the foot over $24 worth of paint? Could she be leading you on or gaslighting you? Sure, it's a possibility. Maybe she was just flirting to get your attention? Certainly another possibility. Do you need to quiet things down a bit and let the fruit of the new relationship ripen a bit before giving up on the whole garden? Again, it's certainly on the table, and if the relationship is REAL and WORTH saving, it should survive a little period of rest and introspection. Just remember to communicate at some point.
