I'm not "ugly" as such. Some people have called me "cute" because of my childlike appearance. I'm just very short and thin. I am really trying hard to gain weight. She is a little shorter than me, not exceptionally beautiful or anything, but she's quite pretty. I am four years older than her but she still looks older than me. I look much younger than my age. People think I'm 15 when I'm 25. She is 21 and looks like her age.

There's no hope maybe with that girl, but there could be with other girls. I am 5'4" (163 cm) tall and she is I think 5'2" perhaps. Are you Indian? Most girls in India aren't very tall and don't really have strong height requirements for their husbands. My brother-in-law is also 5'4" and he is not handsome either. I think my main problem is looking like a kid rather than being short. No one believes that I am 25, they think I am 15 or 16 max. The reason I felt like there was some hope was because she asked me to take her to a festival and watched me playing music on stage. I have more stable career prospects than her. I am already earning very well. She is a first year architecture student at 21, so she will not start earning before 26. It's a give and take kind of thing, some girls would compromise on physical appearance for their husbands if he's a good provider. This actually happens quite often by the way. You could say I don't really have the right to expect her to like me because I am not attractive. But if I like her very much, I could still try. She seems to respect me and is talking to me on her own interest and will. She is not amazingly beautiful, like I said. She is just somewhat cute. And I am not ugly, I just look young and I am short. Just some food for thought, I'm not saying I absolutely need that girl to be my girlfriend.

Dude I'm not shy. And I don't think the average male height is 5'9". It must be between 5'6" and 5'9", depends on urban/rural and age group. There's no clear consensus. And this girl is from Meghalaya, where the guys are much shorter than in metro cities.
