Not necessarily! My dad still LOVES breaking out ancient his Atari 2600 that may have been found in one of the pyramids. (he actually brought it from England), and as it obviously wouldn’t work here, he had it completely converted so it would work and would be the SAME game he received for Christmas 1981. (or something like that). But when he does play it, he doesn’t do it all day, and he only occasionally plays with it. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. But if a guy sits there every night or even every weekend just playing Mario Kart or even a newer game, then yeah that’s a bit immature… a LOT actually. And if your dating a guy like that, maybe it’s time for the “talk or walk” decision!

Of course not. If anything I've come to appreciate these sorts of games even more as an adult, since it's easy to burn out on these big open worlds with "dark & edgy" contents in an attempt to seem "mature". The Mario games in particular are still some of the best examples of 'gameplay-first' design philosophy. As an adult I can better appreciate how these games achieve a mastery of difficulty, pacing, player onboarding, intuitive controls and precise movement mechanics, all wrapped up in a 'childlike' (but not "childish") Pixar-esque aesthetic that ages incredibly well.

Adult games are too violent or erotic (not my thing). Changes the mentality completely.

Better to play children's games. If someone calls you child, well then it's really good to be childish sometimes. Keeps the heart young.

But playing children's games is not immature. Being immature is a completely different thing if you think about it. Children are more understanding than adults in such cases. Adults are immature many times, I have seen.

I never played those to begin with. I skipped the whole "kids" games and started off on Halo.  In any case gaming is a hobby like any other. The majority of titles are aimed at adults anyway.
