Do people with children look down on people without children?

Taking two people in the same age range with equal socioeconomic status, does the one who has children of their own look down on/feel superior to/more accomplished than the one without children?

I feel people start judging when one is married or have been in a committed relationship for a long time... It's usually family or as your question asks, those with kids, that tend to question why the other couple isn't having any kids yet. It's somewhat the same as the feeling of peer pressure of sex during one's high school years. But if anything, I feel It's mainly parents that puts the stress on having a child as they wish to take some responsibility in raising and spoiling grandchildren. My brother felt the pressure from his wife's family after they got married but chose to wait a year until having a child.

I don't have kids but I am not ashamed to say that I'd kinda look down on people who don't have kids for these reasons
- Because they like pets more than other human
- Because they want to 'enjoy'

There are tonnes of other reasons to not have kids and I don't think much of them

Some of them do, in an "awww you don't know what you're missing!" sort of way. It's kind of like when people who own dogs are shocked when they find out a person never wants to own a dog. We all just have to remember that not everybody wants the same stuff out of life.

I don't know as of right now, don't have kids yet thank goodness. However, my family (both immediate and distant) seem to I think. I have a sister that for a time was pregnant and she's only been married for less than a year, meanwhile I have a cousin who's been married for at least 5-6 years and hasn't had a kid and the family will ask from time to time "So... do you ever plan on having kids?" etc.

Of course there are some people who feel self-righteous about such things. However it is also true that there are things you cannot understand unless you have experienced them.

No. I think it's the opposite. Childless people always have "advice" on how to raise a child. If you don't have kids don't tell me how to raise mine. I'm talking about the negative advice. Some people without kids have this idea of how easy it is. It's far from easy.

when people have kids, they feel like they life now has meaning and it has more meaning than yours. some people create meaning in their lives through having kids and some don't. ones not really better than the other but both are necessary. studies do show that married couples with no kids are the happiest.

I have one child. I under no circumstance look down on childfree people. It is their choice. Children are a choice! There a no wrong choices on the road to individual happiness

There's no need to feel sorry for anyone. Everybody is doing what makes them happy.

The only people you need to feel sorry for are the children of people who never wanted children (and who let the child know how unwanted he/she is).

Honestly in my experience it's the other way around.

Also I think having kids is much more important than traveling the world

If anything, I think it's the opposite, especially when you're young.
If you're really that happy and enjoying life, very few people will say anything.
