My son is 15 years old and has been doing things like breaking household items for no apparent reason, he throws rocks at kids in the freshmen’s in his school, and has now been suspended for giving his art teacher a black eye and when he was asked why he said because he didn’t like the way he painted. What should I do and what could this mean for my son?

If he is out of control , call 911 and have him 302’ed when he starts breaking shit in the house and causing outrage In your home , the police an ambulance will come and restrain his ass and take him away To the hospital to do an evaluation on him with a mental health doctor , He might need medication , word of advice convince him to sign himself in once he is there cuz if not it will go on his record and might screw him in the long run when he goes for a job , they will then send him to a Me tap health facility kind of a lock down facility and treat him with the rights meds and keep an eye on him , Hopefully that makes him realize that he needs to stop doing stupid shit and he will see

dark road of life if he isn't disciplined and my suggestion
is request a police officer come to your home to talk
with him or call the police on him when he breaks things
in the home that is wrong for him to do and to give the Art
Teacher a black eye is wrong too now he is suspended from
school you mark my word sooner or later he will end up getting
fines or possible getting a girl pregnant and walk out of her life
hey it happens my late great-grandma was pregnant at age 13
her mother raised the baby so these things can happen I do

From where I am, he received the beating of his life, he got to have the baboon's.

Your son could be showing early signs of schizophrenia. You need to have him evaluated by a child psychiatrist or psychologist. Preferably a psychologist.

I’ve tried to talk to him about seeing one. When I asked him he threw a glass bottle at me and just went to his room. I try to get him to come out of there but as soon as he comes home that’s were he goes and sometimes he even eats dinner up there. I’m worried about his health and the safety of others around him.

Mam, he is 15. You don't have to get him to cooperate. You have the authority - as a legal matter - and need to assert it as a parent in your son's best interests. @OlderAndWiser is right on. Act on this immediately and save yourself, your family - and most of all your son - a lifetime of misery.

There are none on my side, his father had been out of the picture for a while now so I am not sure about his side. What kind of mental illness do you think this could possibly be?
