If a husband said ''I never wanted marriage'' when drunk, is this true?

My uncle and aunt had a recent bad argument. He got drunk and told her that. She's hurt at this moment. He's sober now and regrets what he said but she's still hurt.

In was very clear. He was drunk and angry. These were his exact words:
''I gave up my freedom, my time, my years for you, gave it all up for you.''
''You really think I wanted this? I never wanted marriage. Never did''

What do you think? If a husband says that when he's angry and drunk at the same time is it true?

My aunt is hurt because he never told her that. That's the first time she heard him talk like that.

Sometimes that saying is true, and sometimes not. But this doesn't strike me as a strictly in-the-moment- thought. My ex-wife's father said something similar to her mother one night. Everyone was shocked and demonized him. But I later found out that he broke up with her at one point. Then she wanted to try again, saying she had changed, and got pregnant in purpose by poking holes in their condoms (which she admitted to years earlier). After about a month, he broke it off again, but she was already pregnant so he married her out of obligation.

He died a couple years ago. Still married, but when he got sick and couldn't work, she manipulated him into losing his temper and used that as an excuse to throw him out. He died married, with five kids and 7 grandkids, but still very much alone and isolated.

I voted B because I'm a drunk and I understand drunks better than most people on here. That's not to say drunks aren't fucked up. But if you're talking about meaning what they say when they're both drunk and heated in a way where they wake up the next morning and say, "I meant everything I said last night," being a drunk wouldn't be such a problem if that was the case.

He was most likely telling the truth. Though it’s possible that though he didn’t want marriage at the beginning, he might like it better now. He seemed to be talking about the past.

I think his feelings at the moment were hurt there's not much context on what happened before he said that. Hurt people hurt people
