What is the one thing that you should always ask your girl best friend and the one thing that you should never ask her?

I'm a 23-year-old male and I only have one friend, who's a female. But, I've not been in touch with her for a while, since I have head-tremblingly weird work timing. Now, I want to get back in touch with her, but not with a hi or hello (we only text/call, she's on another continent).
I've already asked this question a few months ago, and I got a whole bunch of weird and awkward responses. So, wanted to try this again with a few more details.
To give a headstart, please know that we aren't sexually attracted to each other and even though we do talk, we don't exceed a few sentences at a time (both of us are anthropophobic).
So, any and every kind of response that's not R-rated is welcome...

Usually when I contact someone i haven't spoken in ages i usually start with that.

Like:
Hi there, it's been ages since we talked, which is such a shame because it was always fun talking to you. How are you doing these days?

And usually i add something that reverts back to a previous conversation. Like when they went on vacation I would say something along the lines of:
Last time we spoke you went on that trip to X. How was it?

Plenty of conversation openers then.

Ask her how she's doing, how's work and life, how her family and other friends are doing, any significant others (in the form of, "Are you seeing anyone?", and not, "Are you banging anyone?"), and other such things that may pertain to your friendship specifically.

I had female friends when i was younger. I used to ask them about relationship advice and sometimes when I was feeling really insecure I might ask them if they thought I was a good catch. I would never ask them about sex.

Well is she truly helping or hindering with your romance goals? In my experience female friends usually give platonic male friends bad advice about dating. You are also wasting time, energy and thoughts with her.

But you know what suit yourself. Maybe she’s supportive in other ways.

But from what I am reading in these comments you (no offense) probably got some work to do. Making friends with masculine guys helps set a good role model. You won’t get that from her.

Anyway it takes one to know one when it comes to being a straight “nice” guy. It’s a hard life. But I feel like I am giving advice to my younger self right now. You need some tough male buddies.
