I realized from my last question that so many of y'all are uneducated about breastfeeding. So if you have any questions feel free to ask them here. I've pumped/breastfed for 3 babies so I feel I'm qualified to answer most questions.

My wife and I had a few discussions about it and she ultimately elected not to, so I don’t even have any outside observer data to go on. Did you need to eat a lot more high calorie foods while breastfeeding? Did it change the role your breasts played in sex going forward? That was her second biggest issue, that things would irreparably change in how she viewed them going forward. The biggest issue she had was that both of our daughters had difficulty (but ultimately figured it out) attaching, and lost what she considered too much weight within the first few days after birth which ended further attempts.

Yes have to eat a little more like 200-300 calories but not much. I don't even notice eating more just a little extra snack.
It doesn't change anything with sex besides my husband can suck milk out
And boobs change during pregnancy not with breastfeeding. Its a common myth that boobs get ruined while breastfeeding

Apple, you asked a question and did not get the answers that you wanted to hear. So you got angry and argumentative. For the record I don't care if a mother breastfeeds in public and I do know there are laws that protect this in most areas (though there may be some places where it is not).

I would not really think much of it if I seen someone breast feeding in a pool or anywhere else. The problem is that you were looking for attention by agreeing with the perverts as well as even saying you were married but also wanting the attention from other men and how attractive that it is.

I don't know though what the problem with either covering up or using a bottle or finding somewhere private to go is though...

Most breastfeeding mothers HATE when perverts are looking at them or making comments. You make them look bad lady.

I actually do have a few questions on this topic

- Are you able to produce milk while pregnant or is it after you give birth?
- Does milk only come out if the nipples are touched or sucked?
- Does it hurt nursing? I know they don't have teeth yet but gums seem like they can hurt too.
- Is it anything like cows milk? Smell, consistency, or I don't know if you've ever tried it but if you have, what does it taste like? I personally don't remember but I don't think it tasted like cows milk.
- When do breasts stop producing milk
- Have any of your babies ever refused to drink even when they should drink? How do you get them to drink?
- Kind of a dumb question but does breast milk ever kinda just clot? Sorta like blood.
-Are you comfortable breast feeding in public?

I am not sure about apple, as it is a little different for every woman.

I started producing around 18 weeks. which happened suddenly. I literally woke up with pressure in my breasts and startled when I went to the bath room and they had nearly added two cup sizes over night. I figured it would be closer to when I gave birth.

I leaked milk constantly with my first son. no touching or suckling required. if I even thought about him I would just start pouring milk... caused some embarrassment. My second son it took some working my nipples or messaging my breast while he fed to get a good flow going.

nursing didn't hurt... at first. it definitely is an interesting feeling but eventually you have a baby sucking on your nipples several times a day annnnnd well. if you have ever had chapped lips? and that hurt? ... imagine having chapped nipples. When it started even though my sons had no teeth. they might aswell have been little tiger sharks. eventually your nipples toughen up from the constant suckling.

It is nothing like cows milk. Mine tasted (literally every mom I know has tasted thier own milk so it is abnormal) like really sweet almond milk with a rich after taste. I often thought of it as " if femininity had a flavor" it would be breast milk. it is sweet and pleasant and comforting probably why babies like it so much lol.

I stopped producing milk like 3 months after birth. which pissed me off cause I started so early before I had a use for it.

my kids never refused. I would usually just offer my nipple to them and they would latch on.

I don't think it clots. its consistency can change a bit tho from thinner to thicker sometimes.

I virtually never fed in public even in my own house I would go into another room if I had company over... just felt weird with people watching me do something that feels really intimate not in a sexual way but it just feels like it should be a private thing.

I don't need any advice. However I love the post! I breastfed for 8 years straight between my 2 kids. My first I nursed for 3 years and the second for 5 years. I would have continued with the 1st but at that time I was given conflicting information about nursing while pregnant. Now I know better. If I had another I'd nurse that one too. Its a beautiful bonding experience.

Yes but its because I breastfed from birth to 2nf pregnancy and ween my 1st by 4 mos of 2nf pregnancy so i had technically 5 mos off but i had milk during those 5 mos off once the 2nd was born I gave my 1st breast milk in a sippy cup cuz she was jealous

Have you ever been told to cover up or leave by the manager of a business or another authority? I know you open breastfeed which I think is great, just wondering if you've had any real trouble from it, or if it's just been stares and negative comments?

Nah never been told to leave or had any trouble. With my second son tho I went to my 4 week check up and the doctor walked in while I was naked on the table breastfeeding and he said he'll come back once I'm done since he felt uncomfortable to do a exam while I was breastfeeding. Not sure what he meant by uncomfortable tho

My mom's a doctor and dhe told me that there are various stages in the milk from mother.

The first stage is water like milk, then it goes on becoming dense, like a food to the child and then as a final ending part, again water like milk to quench the thirst of the child.

So my final question is...
Do you feel the change in milk when breastfeeding? I mean the flow must be felt right?

1. gotta empty completely to avoid clogs
2. breastpumps are more helpful then harmful
3. Formula isn't as good but helpful for those that can't breastfeed
4. im comfortable feeding my baby where he is hungry
5. I'm a over producer. If I didn't make enough I'd give formula. I gave it to my oldest for 6 months since I couldn't fully breastfeed him and had to pump which is more difficult then just feeding straight from the boob.
And yes the milk changes but this cannot be seen or felt unless using a pump then I notice the color difference especially once it goes into the fridge and separates

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I hope when I have a little baby of my own to breastfeed and how do you know if they're getting enough milk and what are ways to increase the milk supply. I'm sorry if this is a dumb question my apologies

Can't really tell how much milk they are getting besides time like If they ate for 30 mintues and seem satisfied then its enough. Some people weigh baby before and after feed to tell exact oz but I've never done that.
Milk supply is a supply and demand system. The more feeds and pumping then the more milk that can be made. Eating and drinking enough water is important too.
And no none of these are dumb questions

There is electric, manual hand, and silicone pumps. I use all of these but I love my silicone pump the most since no wires and I don't need to pump. The milk comes out from the pressure

My son just randomly stopped cause he was done with it. I kept pumping for a few months after but it's hard to keep up with pumping and it slowly drys up.
And no women don't wake up in a puddle lol it'll dry up if the baby isn't drinking or she stops pumping

Yess at the park, doctors office, pool, beach, zoo, museums. I refuse to do it in a place like the store tho since it's soo crazy busy in there and I like to sit to breastfeed

Interesting they stopped at 6 months. Maybe a nursing strike or wanted to eat more real food if you introduced them to it then. When I notice my babies eating less I always try to pump more so my supply stays the same. So my only advice is to pump when you feel like they aren't eating to keep the supply up

It is possible but can be dangerous since pumping can kickstart labor and make the baby come early. I definitely wouldn't recommend a woman doing that.

2. This also depends on the women but it can make a orgasm easier but some women get dry down there while feeding so sex is uncomfortable.
3. it can if the mom isn't getting her period back yet. I'm not that lucky i get my period back right away so ovulation starts

As far as breastfeeding goes breast milk is naturally sweet. Now certain foods will change the milk. Eating a lot of beans or broccoli can make a baby gassy. A lot of green beans or peas can make a babys stool green. Once I ate a lot of carrots and my babay who was on fed breast milk had orange stool. Eating corn can result in tiny bits of undigested yellow pieces to be found in the baby's diaper. For the best healthy milk its best to eat protein and ungassy veggies.
