Anyway I can make this up to my mom?

i should first say i have high high functioning autism i may not have autism but i go with that as i have always been told i have that,

i move back to new jersey in 2015 i live with my mom & her ex boyfriend long story
for the last 7 years i have been in my room pretty much ever min since i get home from work as i don't like her ex boyfriend he is a drunk.

i would only leave my room to use the bathroom take out trash get the mail or leave for work.
once & while i would leave the room to talk a walk with my mom or take her out to eat or we would take a trip to a store. but i have not do that for months as i have been depressed & just wanted to stay in my room.

i was having a mental breakout today & i realised i did the same thing to my dad. when i was living with him in highschool in a far away state. as i hated my step mother & how i realised i lost the years with him & how i can never get the years back as he died in 2016.

sorry for the long story just thought i would need to give a lot of background for this question.

anyway i can make this up to my mom?

Unfortunately, I don't know if there's any way that you can make it up to your mom. That's all water under the bridge. How is your relationship with her otherwise? Would things be okay between you two if not for her boyfriend? I know that depression can be debilitating, and make you not even want to get out of bed. But it sounds like you are starting to realize that things don't last forever, including our parents and loved ones. I know that it's extremely difficult, but I know that your regret for not having tried more is going to be more difficult. Give it your absolute best shot. It doesn't have to be anything spectacular. Maybe just a brief conversation as you are coming and going. Maybe a hug or a card, or some flowers. Tell her you love her while you can.
