Guys, would you give an average looking girl a chance if you thought she was really nice?

There is this guy I have a crush on and he's really good-looking and I sometimes feel as if I'm not pretty enough to get a guy like that. I take every opportunity I can to at least start a little conversation with him so that he can get to see my personality, hoping that he might be interested.

I would and I like to think I'm attractive 6'1 12 stone and very little body fat though I could be lying or I could think i'm attractive and I'm not who knows?
Back to the point If it was me I'd have to know the girl was actually interested I'm not a mind reader you have to be fairly obvious also your allowed to make the first move even if it's not guaranteed to work if I am attractive there are probably other girls acting the same way as you and I don't know about it until one of them makes it obvious to me. If I know one girl is interested it is going to get me to focus more on them.
Also do you have any personality traits I find particularly undesirable like expecting me to pay for everything because I'm a guy even if you were the one who asked me to go there with you in the first place.

I see your point. I just have to be extra careful because he is a co worker and I don't want to be unprofessional. I talk to him sometimes but I also don't want just randomly go over to where he sits and start a conversation while he's trying to work.

I can almost guarantee that most guys would disagree that you're not pretty enough... You're probably your own worst critic.
But yes, I would 100% prefer an average or plain looking woman with a good personality and common interests and values over a model-quality woman with a boring personality, bad attitude, or not much in common.

Take care of yourself as far as health and hygiene, put a little effort into presenting yourself well (well dressed, good posture, smile, etc.), and just be you... Don't try and be someone you're not just to get a guy to like you.

I've definitely reminded myself over and over again to be myself and that I am worthy. I don't consider myself unattractive but I wouldn't say I'm a bombshell. I guess in this world where society pressures people to look perfect, I feel almost inferior to him cause he's obviously good looking. He is a really nice guy though and I'm working on building up more confidence to just chat with him. Thanks for our answer, that helped a lot :)

Look at it this way. If the real you is attractive to him, then the relationship will probably work great. If you put on a false front just to get him to like you, the relationship is doomed from the start. Just be you, and if he likes you then great... if not, then he wasn't the right guy for you anyway.

That's good advice. I think I need to keep telling myself that I have a chance, even though in most ways I think way out of his league. After all, if he's single he's fair game right?

You never know until you try!
Besides, he might be tired of dating super-model appearing women who are super high maintenance, aren't the right intellectual match for him, get a ton of attention from other guys (and may or may not act on it), and realizes now that star quality appearances aren't that important. That's not to say that super-models can't be great people with high intellect, morals, values, etc., but if he's only been dating girls based on appearance (because they're the only ones confident enough to think they have a chance with him), he might be more interested in finding a girl with some substance.

If not, no big deal! there are lots of good looking guys out there who would totally be in to you, I'm sure :-)

You see, i was brought up to respect old fashioned values. So I would date her, but i would take things one step at a time. You have to get to know someone first. Okay, things may not work out. But there is no harm in being friends.

The only, if you want to call it a problem, is that we work together. It just means that I have to be extra careful. I can't be too flirty and have people in the office notice and start to gossip etc
