Ah man, that's a tough one. On one hand, I get wanting to show your affection for someone you like. But flirting right in front of another friend could make things awkward for them, you know? Put them in an uncomfortable spot. I'd say it's probably best to keep the PDA to a minimum when other friends are around. A little harmless teasing is one thing, but getting all lovey dovey might make the third wheel feel a bit left out. Maybe try limiting the flirting to more private times when it's just the two of you. That way you can show each other you're interested without making others feel excluded. Respecting your friends' space is important too. Does that make sense? Just try to be considerate of how flaunting your thing in public might make others feel less included in the group. Keep it chill when friends are there, save the more intimate stuff for when you get some one on one time.

I don't think this would be improper, to flirt with someone you're interested in. If other members of the group are also interested in the same person, perhaps that might get a little uncomfortable, but I don't think I would let it hold me back.
if you both are interested in each other, I think it's a very sensible thing to do, showing some courage and showing some interest.
