I've asked this questions a bajilion times, but never got the right answer, so I'm giving this another shot.
I know the general rule is to "let it go, let it go, turn away and slam the door" (yayyyy, it invaded your brain now!), but it's pretty much impossible when you see the person on daily basis and are too much of a dreamer. It doesn't help that occasionally something really sweet slips out of his mouth and I can't help but melt on the inside (once he even said that he thought we were "soul mates"). It's been almost two years now that I've been in love with him, but he explicitly said he's not into me (emphasizing the fact that I'm an inch or two taller than him so that could never work out). Damn, no matter how many times people say that I can do better, I just won't believe it. Around him I feel "whole" for some reason and I know I've never clicked so well with anybody. I genuinely tried, I tried flirting with other guys (which felt awfully artificial because I didn't fancy any one of them one bit, he's the only one I could see myself being even mildly attracted to), dating websites, hanging out with friends, NOTHING HELPED.
PS It's not a matter of low self-confidence - I know there are guys who would go out with me without me needing to ask them to, the problem is that I'm some sort of a damn target-sexual. It's not like I'm stalker-obsessed with him, that's just your regular crush stretched out like a goddamn One Piece and it's driving me nuts.
