Hey little girl! You know make up actually highlights the beautiful facial feature you have. For me I'm not much of a make up person but my mom do apply eyeliner on my eyes (my prettiest facial feature) because she says she likes painting my deer-shaped eyes haha. Weird right? but yes make up does highlights facial features. I will be honest with you... I like the smell of cosmetic products for some weird reason but I hate caking my face with foundation, powder, concealer, lip gloss and all. I don't want to wear make up at all. You must know right how much it stinks when someone throws the cream of birthday cake on you? Make up feel the same to me. It smells nice but feel weird Yuck. I'm sure though you don't need make up because you must be pretty like your mom :) make up isn't needed at all. People wear it to glow their facial features and like highlight their prettiest part. But yes you should avoid wearing excess of make otherwise you will look like the weird version of Harley Quinn. Light make up is fine. In short make up makes the person look more bright. However natural look is the best! always remember that.

I tried on my mom's make up when I was in elementary. It was probably out of curiosity. I started wearing a dap of lipstick when I was 16 and that too only once in a year or so. Then I stopped when I was 18. I used baby powder most of the time. I started playing with eyeshadow when I was 27. Then started going full on foundation, blush, etc when I was 31. That ended after a year or two.
My journey with make up is all about curiosity; wanting to know what will happen, how good will I be at that, will I like it or not. I personally like facepainting more than regular make up. Nowadays, I just use moisturizer, sunscreen, and lipbalm. On a rare occasion, I put on some or full make up when I feel like it and even when I just stay at home the entire day.
I it my understanding that women wear makeup to look and feel their best so they feel confident. Some use it to look younger. Some use it to enhance their natural beauty. Some use it to hide imperfections. Others to fit in and be fashionable. Some use it to make themselves more noticeable or seductive.
I don't know if I really have a say in this. I see makeup somewhat akin to the masks that the actors used in Ancient Greece. These actors used them to, supposedly, more easily act the role they were playing. In this sense, it allows some women to be who they are not by wearing a "mask" that isn't them.

I don’t wear makeup often… but whenever I do, my friends and family say that I look better without it. I do watch a LOT of makeup tutorials though. It’s also quite difficult to find the right concealer shade online since I can’t go out to try the shades out lol. Besides, whenever I apply any makeup product on my face, like foundation or something, I start breaking out and its so freaking frustrating.
Nowadays, since I haven’t been going out much, I only wear lip gloss, mascara and darken my eyebrows. It can be like men wearing ties when it's done for work situations, because it's expected, but otherwise it's like picking a certain outfit, just because you want to and you can, so why not?
It's a bit ironic that your six year old daughter is asking because kids of that age rarely have reservations about painting their own faces, whenever the opportunity arises, but it is a smart observant question. Sometimes it's just a fun thing to do that has also a lot to do with wishing we could actually stay as fresh-faced as a 6 year old. That might be a good answer: because we want to look as good as she does without makeup. To cover flaws, and accentuate my attributes. But we wear it to look as good as we can possibly look. Yes at my ag when single we wear it to look attractive to guys, but we also wear it for us. Looking good, or more importantly FEELING alike we look good can really boost our endorphins and literally make us feel better. (I hope that’s good enough for your 6y/o (willing to bet she’s super smart like her mama!)
To make myself feel better, for self-expression and to feel good within myself. Anyone of any gender or identity definitely can wear makeup however they like and it van be such a fun thing for people. For me personally I like to wear makeup because to me it encourages my femininity and I love that. I find makeup makes me feel feminine and good within myself. 🥰 I hope this helps.
I wear my make up daily. Makes me feel good. I hate guys that like I guess I was married too who are insecure like in my face I am going to the store or whatever I don't nee make up. Hunny I don't need you jealous.. I also hear about not needed to wear tank tops when it's 100 degrees because my tits are a dd. I have never cheated on anyone. The point is do what make you feel good. Wear it or dont. Don't do it because you think it's necessary or not. Validate yourself!
personally i'm not really a big makeup wearer since it takes a ton of time and is kind of messy. plus if you don't use the right kind of makeup you could end up making your skin worse so uh--i'd rather not take that risk. but personally, i still like to dress up and i mainly do it for myself, although i still care a bit what others think of my as well.
I love doing bold eye makeup - to match my outfit or make my eyes pop. My eyes are one of the very few features I like about myself. Makeup is fun, it’s just fun to try things and add some colour to my life.
I started wearing makeup at like 11 and I'm now 32. It's like a habit and a thing that feels weird not to do. Like it's expected. I can't seem to kick the habit lol even with the fact that I get hit on more without makeup on.
And to be very truthful, I already look very young for my age and without makeup I look even younger. Like teenage age. It's not what it's cracked up to be.I think when I was younger it was kind of a peer pressure thing. Everyone was using make up or it felt that way and you wanted to fit in as a teenager. Nowadays I don't use make up that often. I use make up when it's a special occasion like a party, going out or fancy dress. It could also be some random day and I'll think 'today I want to put some make up on'. I do it for me because I feel like it and it enhances my appearance a little in my opinion.
I wear make up to be more feminine. And yes, I know make up doesn’t equal femininity, but it makes me feel more feminine.
I wear it for myself because it makes me feel good.Breakouts... N95s for 12-14 hours a day is no bueno...
And I'll wear some of we are going out or doing something special. So for vanity's sake lolI wear make-up only when i play with my two god daughters. I get full make over, they fix glittery hair (am bald) my nails, eye liner, shadow, some color mic here an there then we go out to watch a kids movie have fun. The oldest is 12, youngest is 9 🥰
I like to wear makeup to even out my skin tone and add some contouring for better photos. I have nice skin and I use great products so a little bit of make up enhances what’s already there. I like light, soft makeup. I don’t like that cakey look or when people can clearly see I’m wearing makeup unless it’s red lipstick💄
I wear it for me. When I feel a little down, I'll put a little on to inhance my natural beauty, and boost myself esteem.
I've tried so many times to wear makeup, but I just cannot make it look right ever. I gave up. My main purpose for wanting to wear it was to make myself look a little better or enhance my looks.
I rarely wear makeup and when I do, it's only blush, mascara and lipstick. I guess putting on lipstick makes me feel a bit more confident about myself, cuter and put together. I also like to coordinate my outfits to my makeup
I like getting dolled up. But a bit of makeup cute outfit. You just gotta find make up that compliments you and not go over board. Tell your daughter just wait til the day she's gotta wear heels to a wedding or something. The pain is real
I do it for me. I like how I look with makeup on and it boosts my confidence. :)
Minimal. Eyes shadow and mascara only and chapstick. For special occasions, a little more.
Only on Halloween, or when the kids what to use me for a guinea pig. I really don't like the feeling of make-up on my face, but I do like how lipsticks or ChapStick coats my lips and saves them from being chapped, split or bust open from Wisconsin's winters and summers.
But I don't wear that either. I feel like people are staring at me.
