Why don't girls want guys buying them clothes?

It always feels like whenever a guy buys a girl clothes, she's always either not happy, but keeps it, or just returns it, usually because it's the "wrong size" or whatever. Should men just stop trying to buy women their clothing?

Depends on the couple, but if you are going to do this, you have to pay close attention to what she likes. Don't give her clothes that you want to see her wear if it's not the sort of thing she's comfortable wearing. My wife buys designer clothing at resale shops. I can't buy her anything new that's comparable. For her birthday, I go shopping with her and buy her high-end items we both like. Last year it was boots from Gucci and YSL, about $2000 new, $300 at resale.

As I would be the poster boy if "Garanimals for Men" ever came out, I would never, ever purchase clothing for a girl unless she told me exactly what she wanted. Even then I'd prefer to have her get it or pre-order it and I would just buy it for her.

The only exceptions are my t-shirts, which I do purchase in abundance because my female friends universally swipe them. I'm 8"" to 11" taller than any of them, and they admit that they like to wear them to bed.

Next time you meet a guy who's very fashionable and is always talking about clothes, or something that girls usually talk about, figure out if he's got a girlfriend or not, if he doesn't, it COULD imply, he's gay, not always, but, typically, they're gay
