He apologized for not texting me for a week (said he was really busy), but did he actually loose interest?

I've been dating this guy for a month. We used to see each other once a week and text every day (always at his initiative). All of our dates were great, we made out a lot, had nice conversations... But the last one was kind of weird. We were actually both tired, I felt like he was not as entusiastic as he used to (even by the way he kissed me) and neither was I.
A whole week passed without any news so I texted to say hi.. He replied immediately, seemed very cool and said "BTW, I'm sorry for not giving news this week, I was very busy".
I said there was no problem.
I wonder why he would apologize if he was actually trying to withdaw?
GUYS, would you do that?

& if wasn't "no problem" you should not have said it was... just an fyi. I think it is a good thing he apologized with out you probing for an apology.

Next time something does disappoint you however, you don't have to argue, say you were a bit disappointed but you understand. If you don't express yourself, feelings will pent up and then one day you will lash out without really understanding why.

I just didn't want to seem needy.. he's a very handsome guy, intelligent bla bla bla.. kind of perfect guy who can get any girl he desires. I wanted to show him that my world doesn't revolve around him, that I don't think about him 24/7 ...(even though I might do ! hahaha)
So well, if he doesn't show up again and keeps withdrawing, you think I should tell him?

Yeah. There is a difference though between being needy and expressing in a needy way like, "I missed you a lot! I was hurt so never do that again because I need to talk to you" vs. being cool but also putting your a bar (your expectation) out there for him to see... "I was a bit disappointed I didn't hear from you but I can totally understand, life gets crazy. Blah blah blah".

I would apologize, because girls are overthinkers and would tend to think that we dont give a sht.

Sorry, I didn't express myself well. Let's say you were loosing interest in a girl, would you say "I'm sorry for not giving news, I was busy, etc... ?" Or would you be more likely to say nothing to show her your rea loss of interest?
