The world and the skies above know, that we (but mostly guys, sorry dudes.) just grew out of it. The way pants sag, shoes with "air", mini everything, less coverage and quifs that touch the ceiling, society doesn't have time to be polite anymore. Just be a f!@#ing d*:ckhead because it's so cool (!)!!2@! It's the way the world spins.
If guys act like that, it's because girls like it. Trust me, if girls didn't like the f!@#ing d*:ckhead wearing saggy pants, guys wouldn't act like that... so technically, it's mostly women's fault. We adapt to what the other gender likes, it's in our nature, because if we don't adapt, they won't like you, simple as that.
Bullshit. Just because some girls like it, doesn't mean they need to be like that. It shows insecurity to "adapt" to what another person wants just because you want that person.
I do chivalrous things for pretty/ugly women all the time and I will till the day I die; not because of them but for who I am. Sometimes I get a "I don't need your help" type of attitude and some girls just won't have it "I got it"... little discouraging
I think it's just the later generation that this applies to. Different mindset I think. Chivalry is still around, but you have to look to older men to find it, probably over 30 or so. I will still hold doors open, help carry, stand up when woman enters or leaves, etc.
It's called equality. I've been told that women can do anything that men can do, and to my knowledge opening a door falls into the realm of "anything".

i don't think things have ever really been like that. this is just how guys are portrayed in movies and romance novels. and tbh, women just aren't pretty enough to be chivalrous for. guys see how women look in movies with their makeup and what not, and chilvalry seems much more natural and romantic because the women look so beautiful. then we see how real women look in comparison and we feel let down. we don't feel the need to go that extra mile with you because we feel you aren't worthy of it.
If someone helps you, you will mistrust them and question their motives. That's human nature. If you have helped them, you are more likely to consider them as being a friend.
the people who tend to complain about men not being chivalrous and the such are normally the ones who are not acting like a "lady" and deem that they deserve it just because they have boobs.
Being independant does not make us unfemale but i think guys need to see we are capable HUMANS not females that are tooth picks lol HUMANS!, we are all individuals and love to expess our individuality, so do women, most women now are not willing to sacrifice their individuality for men.
That's because men don't actually LIKE the things we want them to do for us... females and males flirt a bit differently, i mean if some girl picked up your pen for you, carried your heavy bag and generally made you feel your not capable of doing so... you wouldn't like it definitely because men hate feeling not capable. I mean girls always adapt to how guys are... they run away when we are on our periods, they ignore us for 3 or more days at a time on their gaming binges.. or if they are stressed out they ignore us completely for a whole week... lol we put up with it otherwise we are deemed "annoying" lol so why can't guys just do whatever we like?, it's only fair... but of course mostly women don't wait on guys any more because we will be there for months waiting on you... lol but this girl obviously likes the old-fashioned ways still so... i think she will find a dude that's willing to adapt to her style of flirting too.
and nope @emmabee11 even in the situation you described (which is far from a norm) "fair" would be as i stated... want something? act your equal measure.
I do all of what you state and I kiss the hand of every new girl I meet and I end up being considered as a weirdo by both girls and guys. So why should we bother if you're not worth the effort?
Ok i get kissing the hand is a bit you know but i personally don't mind it, I mean it's a nice gesture. So do girls give you weird looks when you hold the door for them? By "not worth the effort" do you mean that you'd only do that for girls who are worth it, like someone you want to impress?

Pathetic as well.
@RationalLioness But it's not just "some girls" it's a lot of girls, most of them actually, at least from my experience and those around me.

ahh.. you've never ran into me yet ;)
Agent Macklin! Big fan! :)
@xxxHolicxxx always a pleasure! :D
You're awesome. Stay like that :).

this qs is gold. i was i knew the answer. i guess being polite isn't 'cool' anymore -.-
It's not only about being that way to women though, it's in general to any person. If it's a dating situation, it's understandable.
Not true. I've always be polite and nice to anyone.
hmm i believe there r exceptions to that. i get u tho. @rationallioness
such as @i_am_repulsive here :P
Feminism happened.
Chivalry is inherently sexist. So to best not offend a woman and to treat her like anyone else you don't give women special treatment.
feminism, bitches, sluts, mean girls, entitled girls, fake rape victims, and women with no self respect happened to chicalry.

I agree they are old-fashioned notions though... but still... some women are still like this... so id let them express their own individuality
it's simple equality.
want something
offer the same in return.
the vast majority of women who say "men don't do this" " men don't do that"
don't act like their equal counterparts.

you can't speak in generalization, that is from your experience... not all men and not men in general.

I do that for every girl. Im not try to impress someone specific.
Their parents never taught them manners or common courtesy. Though that's what I've noticed.
Raised by crackheads it seems.
I believe it's funny that the guys are the ones whom down voted it and didn't say anything. Guess it's true.
Chivalry died with manners, self discipline, self respect and manners..
I think women stopped raising their sons to be gentlemen in this fast and shallow world.
Totally agree
I raised mine to be one. Having class is essential 👍
It still exists but not as common as it once was
That's all I wanted to hear, thanks.
No problem :)
Feminism killed it. They butchered it with a knife. STOP being so SEXIST
Honestly I'm surprised GaG's men haven't eaten you alive for talking about chivalry... yet
hah, ikr?
Why the fuck are you talking about!!! I hold the door all the time and most of the times I hold the doors for guys or help take in carry heavy things.
You're polite and cooperative:)
