Why is my ex so awkward around me?

He broke up with me, and if we bump into each other some where he will make eye contact and and the immediately walk away. He acts as if he doesn't know me. He also continues to contact me about once a month even though he is in a different relationship. He is extremely weird if I'm with other guys.

He probably had some conflict about the break up and still has some feelings for you. I have broken up with someone who I loved because I thought the relationship was not good for me and my love was unrequited. I still felt really awkward being around her afterwards so I avoided it as much as possible.
