My crush asked for a streak but won't open my snapchats?

A few days ago, I added my crush on snapchat. A minute after he added me back he sent a selfie with a 'streak' sticker on the picture.
my friend also added him a few days before but he didn't send her anything.
i was so happy. I thought I was special, that me might even like me back?
so I replied with a selfie and a streak sticker.
the next day we sent streaks, but the day after that he stopped opening my snapchats. I sent one every day, but he never opened them. He sends me video streaks twice a day, but hasn't opened any of my pictures or videos. What does this mean?
also, i smiled at him in school and he smiled back. I look at him in the hallways and he always looks back. Does this mean anything at all?
my crush is also Spanish, he's in my school for a month for an exhange program. Is there a chance he might not really understand snapchat or something?

He probably does understand Snapchat, being blunt and honest he probably sent that streaks message to a lot of people, and if you smile at anyone they are likely to smile back. But if he's only an exchange student there is no point of thinking about him if its not going to last and it will just be difficult for you when he leaves. And last thing don't rely on social media for relationships in the just for other guys just speak to them what's the worst they can say

Maybe he doesn't know your friend as well, but an easy solution is just speak to him, guys are simple creatures you'll know if he likes you or not, if he smiles instantly and wants to carry on the conversation then he likes you

another problem is his English is not that good and he's not in my year so I have no classes with him. He's a year older than me, and the only times I see him are lunches and he's always with his Spanish friends then :(
