Would a guy bother texting a girl while on vacation if he didn't have feelings for her?

I've recently been seeing this guy that I've kind of got a friend's with benefits thing going on with (We love hanging out together, but always end up having sex at the end of the night).

Over a week ago, he went on a long distance trip to Spain and Portugal (we're from Canada). Today, out of the blue, I get a text from him asking how I've been and letting me know that he'll be back in a few days and would love to hang out.

Would a guy go out of his way to text a girl while on vacation of he didn't have feelings for her?

If you are concerned that he has feelings for you, then your current relationship probably isn't a good idea. Don't get me wrong, I have no problems with people having casual sex, it's just that if you want a romantic relationship, then actually establishing the relationship is a very difficult task, because at what point do you say you aren't already a couple? You're already sharing the ultimate intimate experience with each other, and you hang out regularly. Sounds like a couple to me.

As for the texting, all it means is that he considers you important enough to go out of his way to talk to. Whether it's as a friend or a romantic partner is impossible to tell. He may also be looking for more sex. I don't mean to make it sound like he is only using you for sex, but I do like pointing out all possibilities.

If you are happy with your current relationship, then don't stress over who likes who. If you want something more, then something needs to change.

I think he is probably horny and wants to have sex when he sees you. Him texting you was nice but if he brings you a souvenir gift back from his trip then it shows he care for you a lot.

Okay, there might be some feelings here. On one hand, the message on face value doesn't seem to show any feelings. But on the other hand, guys who have a friends with benefits going on often don't even reply to messages and stuff.
What I think is, the only feeling he has for you is that he likes hanging out with you and would like to spend more time with you.

Listen don't make more out of it than what it is. If you do your setting yourself up for heartbreak. Just chill and let things take a natural progression and have fun with it. If he catches feelings he'll tell you or you can just ask him bot don't assume that just because he text while he was away that he has all of these feelings for you

I'd do this to a close female friend. Doesn't necessarily mean I have feelings for her though. It could though. Just hang out with him more on his return and try move things forward if you like him.
