Inconsistent! guys please read!

I've been seeing this guy for about a month I would say. I've been noticing some inconsistency with when I hear from him. Example; usually he will text me during the day and I'll answer him back, and I won't hear from him for another 5 or 6 hours. I find it to be really annoying because this happens quite often. I like him but I have a bad feeling he is seeing someone else because late at night sometimes I won't hear from him and the next day he will text me saying that he fell asleep early.

The other day I confronted him about it and said I don't want to play games, and that if he wants to hang out to let me know because I don't want to worry about stuff like this. He was very understanding and apologetic. He has gotten a little better since then but still not normal. I am just nervous he has someone on the side * or I am that someone on the side*.

Also, when we do hang out it is wonderful and he is a total sweetheart.. I don't know how to deal with this, I feel like I'm to old to be worrying about text messages. Hopefully someone can give me advice! it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks ! <3

Well, I've read that it's part of the game to not respond immediately to a text or email because the other person may get the impression that he/she has no life and is always waiting by the phone. So this is a possibility that he doesn't want to seem desprate so he just waits a bit...and then contact you. Girls and guys are different...obviously eh?:) Also,its very probable that he is actually...BUSY. I mean like with a job,helping a soup kitchen,feeding a wild pack of dogs,who knows!Not everyone walks around with their phone plastered to their hand all day...like myself. So instead of expecting an immediate response,maybe in the back of your mind you should always think..."He will respond within the next 4hours or more.That way you are not disappointed. With all said,listen to your intuition because you know him more than any of us in cyberland. It could be as you suspect, or maybe he's just awful concerning contact. If you feel something is up,like another woman...its time to handle the situation accordingly.

I feel like a lot of girls do this at one point or another, even when we try hard not to worry about text messages. I bet you he's just busy. Either that, or he's not really texting, like a lot of guys. I bet you if you leave him alone for a day or two, he'll be texting you wondering where you are. Try it.

That seems like good advice. See how it goes. Sometimes people like what they can't have - that's why nobody wants a clingy boyfriend or girlfriend. So if you're always texting him right back, he could see that as clingy. You want him to be waiting anxiously by his phone wanting you to text him back sooner. Try not texting him at all tomorrow, then texting him the next day only if he texts you first.

I never text him first, And I normally don't answer right away anyway because I will be at work, but within a few hours he hears back, that's why I am so confused, maybe I am looking way too far into it. Maybe it's all in my head? Something in my gut is telling me there is some shady business going on!

I know exactly how you feel. Sometimes a text can take hours up to a day for a phone to recieve it, and unlike talking over a phone, there is delays to deal with, there is no tone to the conversation, there is no emotion. With that said, it can be difficult (and annoying) to try to understand why the communication is incomplete, and its really easy to draw the wrong conclusions(I know from experience, unfortunetly). My advice is to use phone calls as a primary way of communicating daily, and only text for much less important things. Aside from texting, it seems like you just got overly worried for misunderstood reasons. Its good that you talked to him about how you were feeling, I wouldn't call it "confronting him" unless you know for sure something is wrong. The fact that he was very understanding, and treats you really well, are the important things to remember.
