Liking someone within your group of friends?

So I like this guy, and he happens to be one of my good friends that I hang out with often. Obviously I know you can't help who you're attracted to, but is it worth risking a friendship by getting involved with him?

Suppose it doesn't work out. We'll still be hanging out with all the same people... won't this make things incredibly awkward? Or should I just go with the flow and not worry about it?

Key question is... is he into you?

If not, it probably isn't worth the risk. Remember there's always the chance to mess up your group too. Because, yes, it probably would make things awkward.

If he is, the rest of the group could be some consideration...

That's the thing. I'm not really sure. He's definitely flirted with me a few times, but I don't know if it actually means anything. We get along great and I really like his personality. Is he worth going after or should I just keep him in the friend zone?

Also, two of my other friends within our group are in a relationship and it hasn't caused a problem.

Seems a bit risky, so its more if you are happy to take the risk? Test the waters with him first perhaps to see if he is genuinely into you?

If the others are fine, they are still together. Breakups tend to be a bit awkward in groups. That said times change and your group may be OK with a breakup in the future even if it would be awkward now.

Either way, it is really between the two of you, a good set of friends will be happy with whatever you choose.

if you like him, then you need to pursue it. and don't let worries of "a fallin out" distract you.
