How do you deal with sexual tension with a friend?

My guy friend has been staring at me a lot since the last few weeks but he always looks away when I catch him and he mostly stares when he thinks I'm not looking. Today, however, when I came to class he couldn't take his eyes off of me and kept staring at me with a frozen expression then looked me up and down.

Later during class, we had eye contact several times for prolonged periods and he didn't look away. I was the one who kept breaking the eye contact and looking down. What happened suddenly? How come he didn't look away yesterday? Today, he again wouldn't look away and I was the one who kept breaking the eye contact.

Things have become very awkward between us since this whole staring thing. There's this strange tension between us not just when we're alone but when we're with everyone else. We haven't talked to each other for a week because I've been avoiding him. I don't have feelings for him but I guess I am attracted to him and that's why there's this tension? What should I do?

That demonstrates the effectiveness of one thing taught to pick-up artists. I bet he read something online which taight him to hold eyecontact until the girl breaks it first. And he probably just gave it a shot.

Be honest with yourself. Your attracted. But there is nothing more and never will unless YOU will it. That's all. Don't treat each other like strangers. Talk it out with him. A real friend won't judge you for it. And you can still be friends.

Yeah I think I must be attracted for there to be
so much of tension between us. I honestly don't know how to talk about this with him. We've only known each other for a month we're not besties or anything.

And what will I say to him? How will this tension and awkwardness go away?

You have to decide that. It's your feelings. You have to honor them and respect that it is your feelings and nobody else's. Remember that again, you need to date him. But getting it off your chest is better than having regrets and uncertainty. Everything is awkward in life. Everything. What matters is that your nature enough to get through it. And you can get through it together. Your adults. You're not a little girl or teenager anymore. The awkwardness will never go away. But you shouldn't allow it to stop you from living your life either.

What you have to worry about is whether or not he himself will be mature enough to still be your friend afterward. And that's why it's always best to communicate about these things long before you decide to befriend somebody, even if you don't think that anything's going to happen between you. So that way you can avoid having these complications in the future.

Sometimes we have to do things we don't want to do when somebody's in a group we can't deal with then it's time to leave that group and explain to the leader of that group that you can't deal with that guy and if they don't make the changes then you yourself have to make a change by leaving that group on your own
