Do guys really act like they do not notice girls they are attracted to?

Here me out lol. I feel that when a guy sees a girl he is attracted to, often times they notice but act like they don't, throwing hella mixed signals. This is just a theory I came up with but what's your take?

Yes, all the time. Women do it too, probably even more than we do.

Two reasons:

1) Shyness
2) Trying not to look thirsty

If it's not shyness it's a tactic. The person who shows the most interest is chasing, the person who is being chased is in control. If you can bait the the other person and get them to feel like they're the one chasing you, you'll have more control than they do.

Also the more you invest in something the more you value it. Baiting them to invest more than you have is a way to build attraction.

I do this when I'm in a social group and there's a new girl I like. I'll chill and chat to the people I know, maybe catch her looking at me while pretending not to notice. Then I'll wait for her to start a conversation with me, and I gradually warm up to her over time as if she's winning me over.

The time/circumstances may not be the best at that moment due to certain reason (s), so why prematurely jump into battle when you know the conditions are not (as) advantageous to you?

In my case, these were times I had to focus intensely on academics or important tasks at work, I was not available in the 1st place, there's reason to believe she's already taken, very likely uninterested, and/or has characteristics that seemingly endanger any reasonable prospects of a long-term, sustainable life together.

Both. Sometimes I am direct and ask them out on a date point blank. Other times if she's super hot i play it cool. I was at a bar and saw a woman that was a friend of my friends. She was sexy as fuck. So i greeted all our mutual friends and ignored her. Later that night she came to the bar and said hello to me. We chatted. I know all guys approach her. I had to play it cool. Be in her orbit but for her to wonder why i was the only guy ignoring her sexy nature.

As for texting? I never message women in between the first few dates. It looks weak and needy.

Nope. It generally takes a bit more than looks to “bait” me. I don’t know if I’m going to be interested in you based on looks alone. So you can have a pretty face and a hot body and get some looks, but it doesn’t mean I’m attracted yet. What else can you do...

I think guys can not act like they don't notice you. Guys stare a lot without realizing. Even though he is trying to hide it he can't, that's not a skill that guys have. He is probably sending you mixed signals because he fears that you don't like him and he doen't know how to act.

Some possible reasons might be is they are shy or they don’t want to seem to creepy if they pay much attention to a woman especially if they have not know her for that long.
