Was my ex just being nice or do you think there are ulterior motives?

Long story short, my ex and I dated for 4 years. We broke up 3 months ago and live apart now. We have 2 kids together that we coparent. The kids and I recently got sick with a really bad cold and fever so I asked him to drop off some soup and snacks for the kids. After he dropped off the stuff he bought for the kids, I noticed he had also bought me my favorite dessert as well. It was a small gesture but I thought it was thoughtful since I did not ask for anything. I let him know I appreciated it. A few days later, he stopped by again to drop off more food for the kids and included my favorite dessert... again. Does this mean anything?

Did you guys break up on bad terms or was it decision you both felt was for the best? It is possible he could want to get back together but maybe he is just being caring because you are sick and you are also the mother of his kids and possibly unable to leave the house so he just making sure you get to eat
