Oh wow. It's because this guy sucks. He either thinks people will be impressed to hear he hooked up with you. Or he's just so goddamn over-the-moon about finally hooking up with you, that he wants to shout it from the rooftops... with no regard for how that might be for you.

You would be very fair to pull him aside and discreetly slap-him-around a little while explaining that he needs to keep what happens with girls to himself, or he'll find nobody want to hookup with him ever again. Nobody likes that shit. What an idiot.

Your right nobody does care. There is a certain flavor of douchbag who likes to brag to his buddies about getting sex because he feels it'll impress them. That was a dying breed when I was your age, but I feel like there's been a bit of researgeance in that kind of womanizing-chud stuff. But it's basically only something a certain type of guy would ever even think of doing (the kind who is clueless enough to think anyone wants to hear about it. The kind of guy who looks at hooking up as "a conquest" or "an achievement" of some sort. A shitty guy).

So if that doesn't seem to compute for you (he's not an asshole in that particular way). Then I would think it's the other one I mentioned. He's just so happy/excited he's being stupidly indiscreet and not thinking ahead enough to be able to forsee... that you probably wouldn't appreciate him being so loud in his excitement about finally sleeping with the girl he really likes.

Either way... he's got to realize that it's a stupid and dickish move to talk about hooking up with you. It's clearly not going to go over well with you. So when I see a dude shooting himself in the foot... while aiming the gun at his own foot before firing... I can't help but feel he's probably letting his emotions get the best of his own better judgement.
