Do you find it weird that some tall guys are attracted to small/short women?

I've seen so many women (mainly online) say that they think it's weird and gross and that these guys are trying to fulfill some kind of sick fantasy. While, on the other hand, there are some tall women who are exuding this weird jealousy and saying short women are just "taking" all the tall guys for themselves.

I find that Euphoria had kind of tilted the public perception of these height differences. Nate is pretty much the worst. He's 6'4 with anger issues and seeks out shorter partners because they're easier to control. In episode four he tried to get her to wear a different outfit though when she disagreed, he shoved her against a wall. That's a pretty tame example too.

This same actor was also in the Kissing Booth, which includes him saying "please, get in the car, Elle," as his girlfriend angrily walked away. Then shouted threateningly, "get in the car, Elle," to force her to stay. She looked genuinely scared of him. Of course it's not weird for tall people to want short partners, but you can't deny height can be a faccet of power in a relationship. Major differences in wealth, status, age- all are attributes that could give one person more power, and that is a bit worrying. But still, not weird.

I have good friends who are married. She is around 5'2" and he is over 6'3". Both of them met, and found a connection. They are still together years later.

The problem is in our society we are told that we should only be with people like us. So if you are short, you should only be with those who are short, if you are tall, then you need to be with those who are tall; if you are of a different skin color, you need to be with like skin color.

All this is to keep us from getting to know each other on a personal level. If you can divide people into different categories and types; you can control them! Because now that some people are waking up and crossing the imaginary lines set by those who want to control us; others are getting jealous, and making up things to force them back into line.

We were never to be put into a box and only be with like people. We were meant to be with whomever are heart joined. The height of a person, the color of their skin does not matter!! Date who you love. We have within in all of us the ability to create variety in our species. If there was no variety, we would be a species ready to kill itself off.

Mix it up, be adventurous! You may find your true love in someone who is not just like you!!

How is that a problem? No one is "telling" anyone to do anything but it makes sense as it creates a common connection of a trait that could make a relationship potentially stronger. Birds of a feather flock together. I'm a short man and I find that short women only want tall guys these days so your theory only applies to short women. As a short man every woman different than myself still doesn't like me.

I have seen it the other way around where she was tall, and he was short. The point is, that people should be able to like who ever they like without being judged. But in our society, others believe you need to stay within a cultural lane, and can not go for any others than those which are just like you.

however, yes... it is true that some men and women will have some sort of fixations, or kinks... and also fetishes, and in some cases very weird and creepy fetishes

but these weirder creepy fetishes will be about anything and anyone, men and women of any size, type or anything else...

I sometimes found it weird when guys who were 7 ft tall were attracted to me, as I am 5 ft 3.

The last man I dated was 6 ft 5 and I really liked him not for his height though.

These days I think someone closer to my height would be better. I don’t mean same height as me. I just mean not as tall as the guys I dated in the past. For some reason, my priorities changed.

This is only an online thing. Tall men in real life are with a variety of women. Cut this tall man and short woman nonsense out. It is inevitable that like 98% of women will be short to tall men. I've also seen mostly the opposite. I live near NYC and been there many times. One of the most populous cities in the USA.

The biggest amount of tall guys I see are with women above average height at least 5'5 not necessarily small. This odd mention of 4'11 and 5'0 women with like 7'0 men sounds like made up crap or its such a small amount that is meaningless that doesn't represent tall men in any way. Many tall men don't even want women that much shorter too.

No, I prefer tall women, yet I have dated mostly women that were short. This is because there are more short women out there on average than tall ones, so you are way more likely to see that combo. Also, I have experienced more short women showing interest in me than tall ones, which is due to that.

No I don’t think it is weird, people like what they like and you can’t control your height. Personally I never cared about a man’s height tbh since in all fairness everyone is taller than I am, I’m 4’11/5ft. I have usually dated men between 5’7-5’10 and that height difference was fine, but my one ex was 6’4 and that was awkward. The shortest I’ve dated is 5’4 and honestly that is probably the best height difference since I don’t have to reach lol.

I don't think it's weird Bella. And I certainly don't think it has anything to do with a creepy fetish. People are attracted to whomever they're attracted to and height doesn't matter in my opinion.

i wouldn’t say it’s gross or a sick fantasy i mean they are both adults and maybe their personalities just clicked but i do think it’s strange to only pursue girls/guys with which you have a large height difference. Whenever i see a pretty girl that’s tall i sometimes wish i was like 6’5 so i had a more of a chance with her. If you’re a tall guy i don’t see why you wouldn’t want to date a taller woman when the option is available to you.

BUT, I think tall men tend to date tall women. I don't think its more common for tall men to be dating really short women. Sure it might happen once in a while but not common.

I think most people date within their height range and the girl is a little shorter. It just stands out a lot more when it is a drastic height difference where the guy is tall and the girl is really short. Nothing wrong with it tho.

I'm pretty tall and 1.50m or 1.70m is honestly the same thing to me. I like women of both 1.50m and 1.90m, it doesn't matter to me. It could be somewhat weird if people limit themselves to only women under 1.50m or something.

@Tren58 Most women are short and have unreal standards but then again they are highly selective and find most of us repulsive. A study showed that a 42yr old woman on tinder swiped right on 950 men out of a total of 36000 swipes of those 950 she matched with 380 and from there went on about 48 dates and slept with 45. So women are really picky and those few that do go on a date end up sleeping with her. Unlike a 23yr old guy who swipes right 18000 times out of 40000 matches with about 200 of that 18000 and dates and beds 40 of his 43 dates. So guys get limited options but once a date is established he can close the deal. This shows women are very superficial and picky but given a chance for personality and other deeper traits than looks status and wealth a guy can rise above her bullcrap

that 42yr old woman had tinder for less than one yr about 350 days and slept with 45 different penises. The 23yr old man had tinder for just over two years and only slept with 40 women, one actually ending in actual relationship. So if you're a guy and not a 7+ in looks best focus on other things than dating and marriage as women in the age of internet have lost themselves and aren't worth settling with. Any given 40yr woman on avg has had over 500 partners before she thinks to settle for some chump she can exploit till death to avoid dying alone

I mean, that’s some interesting insight, but I don’t think it really has anything to do with my response to your comment. You asked if it’s ok for a woman to dissmis a man based on them not being over 6 ft. I said that I think it’s shallow of them. But, that I understand if a woman who is abnormally tall doesn’t want to date a man shorter than her… back to your tinder dialog, I agree, older women are very picky to their detriment. But the reasons for a statistic can be skewed without more information. Maybe she was more picky because she had very bad experiences? Maybe younger guys swipe more girls because they have a high sex drive and just want any lay they can get? Correlation does not equal causation. Either way, I think tinder is stupid, because it encourages people to focus solely on looks to proceed to the next level.
