People will tell you snow plow, and since you're a little person that should be able to stop you on the less steep hills, just remember, if you need to completely stop, just turn one way and keep turning, and you'll stop eventually.
Don't worry, skiing is really intuitive.

Point your toes together to slow down. Keep them parallel to speed up. Bend your knees and lean forward a little so your balance is better.
Don't worry, skiing is really easy to pick up, you'll do fine :)
Watch for steep slopes, look out for trees, wear helmet to protect your head
Take lessons. Skiing is not really something you can learn on your own.
I've never done any type of skiing before, so any opinion I post here is useless. Except for this: don't fall!
