For the fitness freaks: Is this a good idea?

I have a bit of time on my hands over the next two weeks so I thought about taking my workouts even further i.e. to breaking point.

I normally work out 5 times a week but I was thinking for the next two weeks to go for double workouts and really push for greater strength and a bit of trimming up on fat.

My plan was to do weight lifting in the morning and cardio in the evening. I'll have to figure out how to structure it so that I can incorporate HIITs as well as allowing muscle groups time to rest though.

Have any of you ever doubled up on workouts? How did it go?
Protein shake after both sessions, right?
