The only really healthy way to lose weight is to combine a healthy diet with regular exercise. Don't go for fad diets, they are not healthy.
There are lots of programs that you can get into that will help you plan your meals and exercises. Search them online and stuff.
Also, set some realistic expectations. You might see little to no results in the first month. Twenty to thirty pounds is talking years (of course depending on effort and stuff).

You will hardly have to change your diet, unless you eat very poorly now. Basically make sure you only eat 3 meals a day (no portion size specifically eat as much as you want). Also, these meals need to be healthy, only 1/4 of your plate should be meat and at least 1/2 should be vegetables at least. Eliminate sugar drinks and drink lots of water! In the gym you need to focus on cardio if you want to lose weight. Losing weight is not a fast process. Work hard on it and you will see change in a couple of months. Good Luck!
summer is coming a lot of people were lazy in the winter, why you didn't start before? I don't want to be rude or anything, but so many posts I see on GAG, just because of summer. 99% of that people didn't work in winter, they were eating all kind of junk food.

Get on a healthy meal plan.
Like lean protein
Whole grains
Grilled > fried
Lots of water
Fruits (limited)
Vegetables etc...
And exercise 4-5 times a week. Heavy weights and cardio.Download MyFitnessPal & figure out how many calories you need to lose weight. Follow social media accounts that post motivating pictures. Don't give up! Set goals. It's all about delayed gratification. Good luck :)
