Do you drink protein shakes before or after exercise?

Also how much exercise warrants drinking a protein shake? Like is it worth it to drink one before/after doing an hour of yoga for example, as opposed to cardio like running?

No.
I stick with water, and eat plenty of beans, eggs, nuts, some chicken, and loads of fruits and vegetables.
Beans are incredibly important. The protein they provide for the body has ZERO fat, and is equivalent to any Steak or protein shake out there.

And yea it takes longer than a protein shake would. But its a healthy thing to do.
Protein shakes and all those other drinks or candy bars or creatine pills are making the body over perform unnaturally.

Yoga and running don't stress the muscles in the way that high intensity work does. As a result there's no benefit whatsoever to taking it to this level and no real benefit to supplementation at all. And timing is not a concern to you.

It's worth drinking one before you go to the gym and straight after, it doesn't hurt if you do yoga with it but to get the full effect of helping your muscles it's best to do it with cardio and weight training

I never drink or eat artificial stuff. If you think you need proteins, eat some meat or fish.

Well as far as I know, the protein is used to repair the muscle damage caused by the work out.

This damage then repair pattern is what develops and tones muscles. I would vote after the workout.

I drink afterwards, I wouldn't do it after yoga. Personally I wouldn't do it if I wanted to lose weight, since I am working on gaining weight though i drink it.

Never. I eat ordinary food and drink ordinary liquids. No need for those specialty drinks.

I highsly advice NOT drinking protein shakes unless you are bulking and weight liftign (women do this too) Yoga is not really something that warrants a protein shake cardio maybe but you're really wasting your money if you use them for that
