Burning more calories a day than you consume is impossible and unhealthy. You have to maintain a healthy caloric intake. To make it easy let's just say it's 2000. If you can, I would go on a walk/jog for 45 minutes a day. Use a treadmill if you don't want to walk around your neighborhood alone. That's what I do! If you don't like jogging for long amounts of time, that's actually good. A really good way to lose weight is to alternate between getting your heart rate up and then bringing it back down again. So jog until you feel uncomfortable, walk until you've recovered, and then jog again! Also go to a gym if you can and lift some weights. This will help build muscle which will help burn fat quicker and give you a toned look.
As for eating, just try and eat healthy! Fruits and veggies and small portions of lean meat like chicken, or fish. Cut out the junk food as much as possible as well as carbs like bread, pasta, and pototaes.

I am trying to lose weight too. I found the best things are LOTS of water, green tea(speeds up metabolism) and always be moving. Whether its dancing around a little while you are blow drying your hair, listening to music, bouncing your legs up and down while you are sitting little things like that. Also try not to eat 2 hours before you go to bed. It takes forever for you to burn calories while you are sleeping. And eat breakfast it helps start your metabolism for the day and prevents you from getting overly hungry later. Smaller meals but eat every 2 hours will also speed up your metabolism. And like everyone else said cardio and weights to tone up everything. Good luck :) You can do it!
Start with long walks and carry some hand weights while you're walking. It's easy and you can increase the amount of weight as you go along. After your daily walk(s), eat some fruit.
If your schedule allows, join a gym and start with the machines. The gym will help you learn the machines. Membership prices are way down.
Burn more calories per day than you intake... it's a simple concept that most people are just too lazy to execute.

diet pills ...eat like a pig and stil lose weight, the lipo inhibitors...
Cardio workouts would probably be best.
