Guys have a problem with their girls being self concious, they like a confident girl. Maybe he is a bit annoyed when you say your not good enough when he is your boyfriend and obviously thinks your perfect in every way. you saying your fat or something is saying he's wrong about his choice of his girl. You don't have lose weight to be happy, check out you BMI on a website and see if you have a healthy weight, and instead of saying you want to lose weight say you want to become more healthy :) hope this helped

Could be an insecurity issue on his part...May be that he's afraid that if you loose weight, possibly making you even more attractive, that you will draw more male attention and dump him because someone better comes along...If that's the case all you can do is confirm to him your feelings...Having said that, you do for you what makes you feel best about yourself. If you're self image will improve if you loose a few pounds then do it. Best of luck!
Its probably because he likes you the way you are and doesn't want you to lose yourself in what society deems "right" or "good looking" or "in-shape", combined with the feeling that he is feeling a tad bit insecure with your trust in him and maybe that his opinion doesn't really matter when it should be the only one that matters, so be happy that you've found a guy who cares for you and likes you the way you are and just listen to him...or he could be a chubby chaser, who knows? =D
Could be worse.. my ex girlfriend asked me to lose weight when she got "hot" so I wouldn't be an embarrassment to her. This was 3 years into our 3 1/2 year relationship. Dumped me because she "doesn't like fat guys"... Ironically, I was 20lbs lighter than when we met at that time.
