I suffer from PCOS hence I have extremely irregular menstrual cycles. About 5-6 years ago, I never actually experienced pms symptoms. I’d mostly get one random chin bump / acne that hurt a lot and seems to be under the skin. Every time I got that, my period would come in a week. Back then, I also used to get cramps on the first day of my period. Then about 2 years ago I actually started experiencing pms symptoms about 2 weeks prior to my period, including tender breasts, ovulation discharge, cramps and even the same chin bump (usually in the exact spot). Now in recent times, for the past 6 months or so, I’ve been getting the chin acne about once a month with some ovulation symptoms (discharge, mild cramps, back pain, change in emotions and craving different foods) yet I don’t get a period now. I’m working on lowering my cortisol levels so I hope that it works. But has anyone ever experienced pms symptoms and got no Period. Also the chance of pregnancy is 0%.
I like learning about different people’s stories and I am curious to know what symptoms you experience prior, during and possibly after your period, and do you have pcos as well? Thank you!

I have pcos as well, my periods are extremely irregular. I’m 117 days late. Probably because i stopped working out and eat clean/watch my calories. And I’m in a bad mental state right now. I’m off the pcos meds (2018-now) because I can't stand the side effects and they’re expensive. I get the painful chin bumps every month and they show up in the same area as well, but after a while they’ll disappear. I get brown spots every month, cramps & pms migrains without periods, cloud white discharges, sometimes I passed blood clots but it’s not my period. That’s my experience with pcos after I’m off the horrible meds. With the meds, everything is regular but metformin 500mg side effect is real, theyre like squeezing the hell out of my stomach so I won't feel hungry.
Here’s what I do to at least help my symptoms and regulate my cycles naturally; low intensity workouts, cycling/swimming is fine too, eat a lot of proteins everyday (my preference: tempeh, tofu, eggs, chicken breast), I drink 1L of cinnamon + spearmint infused water everyday (this is the key, they lower the testosterone level and fix your other hormone levels), dont stay up late, minimize my stress and depression. Sometimes if I have money, I buy inositol (ovasitol) and mix it with my low fat yogurt (daily snack).
Hi, thank you for sharing!
Our symptoms and experiences with PCOS seems very similar. I’m also sorry to hear that you’re not doing mentally okay, sending you good vibes!
I was also put on metformin 500mg and I got my period during the first 4 months then it stopped, I also couldn’t handle the side effects so I stopped the meds. Before that I was given birth control that I took for only 2 months, that gave me anxiety and depression, and I was paranoid about getting blood clots so I stopped it. I used to do intermittent fasting and it helped a lot at first but it’s as if my body gets immune to things quickly so now I don’t see results.
I recently started doing some light intensity workouts and I’m trying to eat a high fiber, high protein, low carb diet and mainly low glycemic as well. I will take your recommendations and also implement them, thank you for the advice! I hope your journey with pcos improves and May you always be mentally, emotionally and physically healthy 😊
The chance of pregnancy is never 0%, unless you’ve had your reproductive bits surgically removed. I used to have PCOS. Back then, I had my period everyday for 2 years, and then I had extremely heavy periods every 3 months for 2 years which almost resulted in me needing blood transfusions a few times before I was prescribed blood clotting medication.
I feel pregnant in 2021 after being told I was infertile and couldn’t have kids, I terminated the pregnancy due to risk of losing my life if I gave birth, and had a Mirena IUD inserted at the same time. I had the IUD removed 5 months later since it was giving me awful pain and cramping, and then after having that removed, my PCOS went away. Doctors don’t know how or why it went away. But since then, my periods have been normal, I have a regular period (no heavy blood loss) around the same time every month, and my pms symptoms are usually just mood swings for a few days before my period starts. I get acne and lots of cramping when I ovulate, but not during or before my period.
Hi, thank you for sharing! Lol I said 0% chance of pregnancy cause I’m a virgin, but yes I understand what you mean. I’m sorry to hear about the intense things you went through, you’re very strong to overcome them. I’m happy to hear that your period is back to normal now 🙏
