Why does my boyfriend compare himself to other men?

My boyfriend always points out shirtless, really muscular men. He talks about wanting to be as big as them. He's skinny but not scrawny or unhealthy. I'm not sure why he points them out. Each time he does I mention that I'm not really into muscles. I tell him a six pack doesn't change anything. It's true, muscles do nothing for me.

I'm not sure if he does this because he thinks I'm checking out the guys thinking I want that or want him to look like that...?

In the past there have been times where he'll bring up celebrities and quiz me on who I think is attractive. He's always surprised when I say no to them...looks aren't a big deal to me, honestly.

He is just insecure, maybe he has been hurt before, maybe he is not sure how into him you really are. We all feel insecure sometimes.

He has said that before, but it's not like I'm talking about these guys in front of him, or talking about his weight/body...he points these men out, not me! I'd never take a second look at them if he didn't point them out and keep going on about their body. I couldn't care and I tell him that every time.

I tell him I love him all the time, I tell him how handsome he is and how much I want him. I've also told him he has an amazing body (which he does!) many many times.
