Hiya! :)
This just sounds like a little bit of social anxiety, caused primarily through lack of experience. Are you quite young? I feel like this all the time when I first meet someone, but as you begin to become more familiar with the experience of just being around people and talking - you start to become a little more adept.
A lot of conversation, between acquainttances can be pretty shallow. It is up to you whether you choose to engage with it or not. When you start working in a professional environment, you have to kind of roll with the punches with regards to socialising with people. The truth of the matter is that most people in this world are not 'that' interesting, and finding people we truly connect with is one of life's greatest challenges. Most, if not all of us manage to pull it off eventually though.
I do not believe that you are narcissistic at all. You just don't feel stimulated - and it is okay to be that way. You will learn that you just have to passify people by being friendly, especially if you are not close to that particular person.
There isn't anything wrong with you at all. Don't be hard on your self-esteem because there is nothing wrong with you, apart from you just feel the need to talk about topics that are a little deeper than breakfast television banter!
