Bigger house, living in a nicer area. With a career man. I know my goals are fairly materialistic but even in my own career I've judged myself based on my salary and earning potential and by what I've had. Me and my husband are very different in that respect and I don't think I realised it would potentially be such a big issue. He did. He's always said if I leave him, it'll be for a career guy - someone that's driven like I am.
When you had everything you wanted you'll realise that happiness is non lasting, and after a few days you feel exactly the same as before.
On the other hand choosing a job just because you wanted to have as much free time as you wanted isn't the opposite to that, but the same. Just expressed in a different way.
The problem isn't the earnings, the problem is you aren't enjoying anything! The antidote for that is doing something you really wanted, even if it's getting a nicer car or living naked in nature.

if you are not sure then you are not happy
Yes I agree. But I do wonder if this just temporary? Things often wax and wane so maybe I need to ride out the rough times and things will improve
